Is ranged combat from adjacent figures different now? I see this:

Hovering characters can make ranged combat attacks against adjacent opposing characters; however, hovering characters may not make ranged attacks against nonadjacent characters when the hovering character is adjacent to an opposing character. A hovering character may be the target of a ranged attack by an adjacent non-flying character.

So they fixed the shooting out of adjacent thin g- thats good. But werent grounded figs able to fire ranged combat against adjacent hovering figs? Or was that just me. Doesnt look like they can do it here.

If this is the case that is huge ... for Hawk and Dove, and for Colossus and the new Nightcrawler.

what the new wildcard rlling means is that now when say your green lantern targets a wildcard and they declare stealth ta in response, your new attack can be a hss attack by shazam without the wildcard changing to mystics. They can't change their ta until you have completed an action. So say you make your attack with shazam instead. after your attack/action is completed, the wildcard can change his ta. It was a long overdue rules change and I'm glad they finally did it. wildcards were getting way too powerfull with the new cards-thunderbolts in particular.

The best part to me will be the maps having colored lines to clearly indicate the terrain types. It works out very well in SWM and I am glad to see WK pick up on that concept.

Agreed. Even though the new maps will look a bit odd with colorful lines everywhere, but this way disputes about terrain should be kept to a minimum.

As for the rest, I haven't gotten a chance to go over the rules in detail, but from what I've heard on here there are gonna be quite a few adjustments.

Old Mystics Wording:
When this character takes damage from an attack, it deals 1 damage to the attacker. This damage may not be evaded or reduced.

New Mystics Wording:
When this character takes damage from an attack, the attacker takes 1 damage. This damage is not an attack and cannot be reduced.

Since Mystics (and presumably Crossgen and Arachnos) was dealing damage, Doom was able to Mastermind it off. With the new wording, all I can say is... Curse you new Mystics wording!!

Yay! I never liked that you could Mastermind mystics.

Why is Impervious still optional?

Also if you Mastermind damage to a mystic and the mystic is KOed the attacking character takes a damage.

Effects of BFCs don't occur until the game starts. Therefore object placement will still happen. But AR still nerfs barriers in indoor maps.

Water Terrain is only Hindering for Movement, otherwise it is clear.

So Objects and Barriers can be put in water!

I was surprised they didn't make a "pogs can't push themselves to death" rule because I think Suicide Squad has some abuse potential. I dunno, maybe they think the 2 action investment mitigates the gain...

Ok, so they will add colored lines to the maps to help identify terrain types. What makes anyone think they still won't need clarifications, or a faq entry, for the maps? That whole indoor/outdoor thing threw them for a loop. Whats happens if there is some sort of mistake on these new maps?

Is the map in Icons full sized, or the new size?

The only thing thats changed is the flyer shooting out of adjacency. Save for a few clearer explanations, the rules are exactly the same.

Of course feats add to build total (which is pretty stupid, all they should do is just add to the figures cost and thunderbolts/in contact/rip it up/fastball special should just add to the build total.)

Color coded maps are nice. I like that.

Hypersonic Type 1 is still a move action so Amazo, Black Adam, Superman on hypersonic, or Shazam! with super strength can bust down a wall and attack. Meanwhile Wonder Woman, The Thing, Juggernaut, Namor, Captain Britain, Statesman, and a whole host of charge super strength bricks can't bust down a wall and pummel some poor shlub.

So Hypersonic is really good now huh?

Am I right in understanding I can now move ALL my JLA team members for free? !!!
