Well, the 'sort of' part in my post was because, frankly, Prime beat Sodam Yat fairly soundly. I'm thinking he's just going to be issue 3-4 fight filler and have no meaningful outcome on the fate of Superboy Prime.
Additionally, there's someone running around in the 31st century that has discovered a cure for Daxamite lead poisoning... since the battle until that point was pretty even.
I'm definitely looking forward to this rematch.

My guess is, SB-Prime will end up killing all members of the Legion in all of it's incarnations.
I'm sure that's Didio's plan. He destroyed the New Gods because he thinks he's got the talent working for him that can do a better job then Kirby did and now he thinks he can do it to the Legion.
Of course it'll probably end with Prime slaughtering nearly everybody and still somehow being redeemed.
Nope, not at all. I am, however, a fan of Jim Shooter. While I haven't read his current Legion run, I was thinking of picking it up when it comes out in TPB form.
I have heard people don't like it as much as his previous work on Legion, but that's ok, I have no prejudice like that, as I never read much of them back then, only read their tales in the cross-overs here and there thru the years.

My son and I are (re)reading the DC Archives of LSH, and I have this to say: Jim Shooter's original LSH run is incredibly interesting to read.
His early stories are brilliant and imaginative...it's amazing to realize that so much of what's been recycled over the years was 100% original with him! We've just finished the introduction of the Miracle Machine (Ends Archive 7) and the (second?) "Revolt of the Girl Legionnaires" and I can already see strands of what I didn't like about later LSH stories creeping in...the "hip" dialog is probably what peeves me the most.
At least right now, the archives are still giving us Curt Swan artwork!
Sodam Yat. The daxamite Green Lantern who battled Superman Prime during the Sinestro Corps War (as depicted in issue one...sort of).
It's just that his name gives me a chuckle everytime I see. He should either team-up with someone named Gomora or become an actor in alternative lifestyles adult entertainment... or both.
Anyone notice when you go to DC's website and go to the comic section, Legion #3 comes out January 4, 2009 while #4 comes out December 24, 2008? Damn you Time Trapper!!!

Perez is at his best when he gets to draw those massive splash pages full of heroes and villians bashing it out. I've enjoyed the first two books so far (unlike Final Crisis and Skrull Invasion which had a lot of promise but I always end up thinking "What wuzzat?!" at the end of each issue).
I don't care what you have to say, it makes no difference anyway, whatever it is, I'm against it!

I predict........................
S-P will kill of many members of each of the various LSH incarnations but enough will survive to form a hodge-podge team. Remember in issuse #1 when they are all summoned, the link is broken and there is no way to send them back. So survivors make due and form a new Legion.

How cute and great book, small jokes, great art, great "oh WOW" moments! this book have it all! from "This is the day he begin to loss his hair" and "he is so cute" to "it's HIM" moment in the end. (for a moment I thought it would be Conner in the end but HIM is ok )
Seriously, when did Friday the Thirteenth become the template for storytelling in comics? Does somebody have to die in every story told in comics now? How limited is our imagination that the only way a story can be appreciated is with a specific amount of gore?
I'll give Geoff Johns credit, he's a better story teller then Loeb, Bendis and Straczynski combined. Unfortunately, he's trapped in the "I need a sacrificial lamb" mode of storytelling.
This has become a cliche, Michelinie and Stern never needed that crutch.
The one character that needs to die in this probably won't, and that would be Superboy Prime. I wouldn't be adverse to the death of Sodam Yat, who doesn't even need to be involved in the story.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
If this book was about the Legion and not about Dan Didio's designer characters in his continuing quest to trash the DC universe.

I dislike a lot of comic book deaths, but Threeboot Sun Boy's death made sense here. Prime's weakness is red solar radiation, and the Legion(s) clearly made it a point to go after that when the Cosmic Boys took apart Prime's armor. Prime going after and killing Threeboot Sun Boy after the latter tried to de-power him with red solar radiation is entirely logical from Prime's perspective. That was simply the smartest thing for Prime to do, and let's face it, it would have been a pretty boring story if it ended with Threeboot Sun Boy de-powering Prime in Issue #3.
Also, Threeboot Sun Boy's death advances Earth-0 Sun Boy's subplot. Ever since the first issue, we've seen Earth-0 Sun Boy moping about in depression, and with Threeboot Sun Boy gone, he's got to sort out his issues and step up. Indeed, this is consistent with the redemption theme that Johns has written into LO3W: Prime may need redemption, but he's not the only one--e.g., Sodam Yat and Earth-0 Sun Boy. We've seen Sodam take a step in that direction, and Threeboot Sun Boy's death paves the way for Earth-0 Sun Boy to do so.
Finally, it should be noted that Johns undoes the pointless death of Bart Allen in Issue #3. That was a far more pointless death than Threeboot Sun Boy, and it seems to me to be a step in the right direction.

I see a cover of Superboy Prime as an adult in Countdown or something. How he became adult? and bow turn back to "boy"??
After killing a Guardian in Sinestro Corps War, he absorbed a lot of energy. That energy turned him temporarily into an adult and moved him into an alternate universe (which was what we saw in Countdown). After Prime exhausted that energy, he turned back into a boy.
