Fun map, but I'm glad I won't be seeing it at tournaments; there's too much potential abuse from characters like Despero and feats like Maneuver. Not having to even roll the dice to KO a character in one move is just not fair unless your opponent has built a team for this map as well.

The map rules can be optional. You could also treat the terrain like "water terrain" or you could count it as blocking terrain for movement purposes, but clear for LOS.

How quickly did you get your DC #, Miraclo? I ordered a map and haven't seen any emails or PM's with mine. Thanks for helping.
Orders came in so quick, most DC's didn't get emailed. If you would like your DC please PM me with your name, and I can get it to you.

The printed rules only allow a KO if the character is knocked back into the pit. Despero, Darkseid, Manuever and others don't cause knockback, so they wouldn't cause a KO. I'd judge those as being under the "can not stop" rule -- you can't use those abilities to put a figure into those squares, any more than you could use them to put a figure inside blocking.
It's still possible to plan ahead for this map and wreak havoc. But honestly, any map that turns *Force Blast* into the biggest threat in the world gets a big thumbs-up from me.
I know I came off kinda negative when I posted earlier, and I still believe that at this point in the game I'd rather not see special rules on GR maps. But having had a chance to look at the map and the way it works, I have to admit it's interesting. I didn't play it this weekend because I was partnered with my wife, but I look forward to lots of fun in the Nocturnal Echo-Locating Flying Mammal Cave.
And Drew, long as we got your attention... any word on the voting for the Download maps?
I've held off on buying the downloads because I wanted to see which would be printed. There's one I'm anxious to get, but your printing service is still the best value available.
Can these be purchased without paypal, i.e. money order or credit card?
When you click the paypal link you should be able to choose a credit card as a method of payment, instead of paypal. If not PM me and we can get something working for you.

I played on it against an all Batman team. I played Low Gravity as my BFC too. I did knock the Icons starter Bats into the oblivion with my Lamp Post Batman.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.

You guys always have my attention. ^^_
As for the voting on downloads....well, there are some things we wanted to implement which we haven't been able to do yet in the Grid Reality Site, that's why we haven't done anything with the voting yet. There is strong interest in 2 of the downloadable maps, so we might just skip voting and go ahead and do printed versions of those maps. Also part of it is the future of Clix. We went ahead and printed "Underground Lair" with the hoped of it selling well. And it has, hopefully enough to let us print yet another map...."The Mental Ward." Whether we do this one before the new year or not has yet to be seen. Our printing company has "unpredictable" turnaround times which are annoying.
Also I have another printed map planned..."Title Unknown" but I can tell you it has to do with
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
FROST GIANTS and a Norse God
. As long as they keep selling we plan to keep making them...just the economy is so bad right now, the holidays are upon us and it takes quite a bit of captiol to invest in a print run for these maps....if they don't sell our wallets take a big hit.
Thanks for the comments...and I will try to make sure that there are more maps without special rules -_^

Maps with special rules can be cool too. If I had a vote, I would say one in every three printed maps ought to have a special rule, for a 1:2 ratio.
I just checked my "approved play" collection of maps. I count 26 maps with the current marking schemes, 7 of which have special rules printed on them. If you count the elevators that move from the School Ruins to the Training Complex, that would bring the total to 9. That's about one in three "official" maps having a special rule.
Special rules are fine. I wouldn't mind seeing more. Just make sure to test them well before releasing them. And if they are optional that's all the better.
