Valkyrie was frustrated. As the mighty Dragonfang swung, the flames seemed to dance and lick just out of reach, ethereal as it was quick. Valkyrie, dripping with sweat, slashed and slashed, relentless, as the two warriors battled in the raging inferno.
Eyeing her comrades, she saw the Hulk and Hellcat seemingly fall, and then reappear, somehow bonded with their foes. Was this some kind of trick? A form of controling her friends and allies? Her tactical mind raced. Her heritage knew of such creatures of legend. They were volatile, yes, but generally considered forces of, not necessarily good, but definitely not evil. They were forces of nature. They should have no intent but instinct. Protecting their home. Self preservation.
"But we do not wish these creatures harm..." The Valkyrie thought to herself, "We Defenders fight to preserve all things, nature and the elements included..."
With that, the Valkyrie's eyes widened. She knew what to do.
Breaking away from her deadly combat with the creature of fire, she sheathed her mystic sword. For a brief moment, the two stared at each other. With a scream, Valkyrie lunged headlong into the monster, as the monster roared into life to meet her head on. A blaze of flame exploded from the two, causing the rest of the Defenders to shield their eyes from the heat and light.
When they were able to blink the spots from their eyes, they looked into where the two forces had met, and saw only one. Clearly a female figure, composed entirely of flame, she stepped forward.
Ducking under the heavy blow of the Earth elemental, Nighthawk managed to utter 'Val?' with a confused look up on his face.
"Yes. It is I, Kyle." The now flame wreathed Valkyrie spoke, drawing her Dragonfang, her eye's narrowing with a now literal burning passion. "These creatures do not wish to harm us. They are attempting to help us. A dread magic has ripped their home asunder, and they have no way to protect themselves. These simple beasts had hoped to augment our own natural abilities with theirs, in hopes that we would free them of their new torment."
"Well then why the heck...whoops!" Nighthawk said, jumping over a wave of rock. "Why the heck are they attacking us then!?"
"They do not speak your language, Kyle." She said, in a somewhat condescending manner, "They communicated with us the only way they knew how, by sharing bits of themselves with us. They had no idea it would cause us harm, or we would perceive it as a threat. Now Kyle, enough fighting. That creature wishes to help you."
"Uhhh boy." Nighthawk said, as he stared up at the massive mountain of mud and rock about to bury him. "I'm in trouble..."

Curses! I was one post short of perfect timing! Before you move Wakanda, the Earthy is now KOed, and I'll let you describe it's bonding process with Nighthawk

Soory about those high DV's Wakanda, I hadn't realized that -everyone- would have an 18DV here...I'll make up the stats to you next game, I promise :D
Yeah, well between my standard dice rolls, and the fact that most of my team are still fairly poor rookies, high DVs are not going to go well for me. If I'm using one of the better Strange dials, or Hulk gets lucky and is put on the right click, I can manage against one or 2 high DV characters, but against this many I knew it wasn't going to be a fun match for me.
But I also definitely know how hard it is to balance scenarios well as the Editor, so apology accepted. I think if you'd picked dials for the elements that didn't have such good stats (especially the DVs) to begin with then it would have worked much better.
Meanwhile, I better go and do some training if I'm going to have a chance of recruiting Namor soon.

when i got up this morning, i realized i'd made a mistake. i forgot to give Nighthawk knockback after that first hit. figures, i only attacks in clear terrain and i forget about Low Gravity.
Yeah I forgot about that too (funny, since that is why I moved Valkyrie behind Clayface, to prevent doing it to you). Oh well, I doubt the result yould have been any different.
