I show up on Sunday and see that normalview has expressed an opinion and I as a judge base a call the same day on that opinion that costs someone their Thor, The Reigning prize after it is ruled on Tuesday that Norm overrulled this opinion they are not going to happy with me that's for sure (discussion of his person's sportmanship asside of course)...
Assume the exact same situation arose without the Regulators.* So your player comes to you with this question. You think to yourself, "Hm, I remember normalview addressing this topic, and he said..."
Now, what does becoming a Regulator mean? It means that the statement normalview made is 99.99% likely to be the final ruling, which means you can be confident in accepting his word on the topic.
In the meantime... you're the Judge. If you're hung up on having an "official" document, then every decision made outside of that document is your responsibility. In that case, you'd be well-served to consider the statements by these recognized experts.
I like this alot. I am always checking out the question threads , trying to help when i can, and looking to broaden my knowledge of the game. I would usually go with the opinions posted by theese fine gentlemen , but now i know if they say it its pretty much how it is. Will I agree with everything all the time ? No. Do I blame them for it ? No. The one thing i know i will get with every ruling / opinion is the explanation behind it. So Congrats to you all.
I don't believe that I am expressing any negativity...

Ah, gotcha, I am concerned about the health of a game that I enjoy so I express an opinion about it and that makes my tone negative...it is all in lower case so I am not yelling...can't assume tone from a message board...if you are just a sheep and follow the herd you are going to end up as lamb chops...

So the guy worried that the RA's officially designated assistants just won't be official enough for him to use as rulings for his group .....accuses us of being sheep.
Days like this make me rethink my "no one on ignore list" policy.

Just curious - if you reflect on your posts in this thread, would you say your posts were positive?
I understand that there are worlds of grey between the two but do you honestly believe that you were taking a position of SUPPORTING the announcement/direction or a position of thinking of it UNFAVORABLY? If you chose "Unfavorably" then you would have posts that are being taken as "negative".
That's not to say your points are unacceptable. That's not to say you don't have a valid point of view. But to debate as to whether or not you are being "negative" seems to be trying to pretend you're different from who you are.
Muncho's point is really dead on. Nothing has really changed. Are the posts the deputies make "official"? As much as mine are, yeah. And before you say "you're the RA, everything you post is official" I dare say if you look back on my posts (though more of those posts are gone from the WK boards) I would very often say "I would rule it like this, but I'm not sure". And folks would counter-post saying "I don't agree" and my reply would ALWAYS be "well, rule it however you see fit, but please make sure your players know the score before they bring a team and get surprised." Eventually, yes, I make posts that have official rules in it - but that part is not going to change.
All that has changed is that there is a public recognition that these guys opinions/answers are right so often that it is worthwhile for people to know. So that when a debate circles around and someone says "well until Norm rules..." these 3 have some weight to say "Norm doesn't need to rule this, the wording of the powers reflect how it works".
Just so you know, I will be quoting this both often and out of context.
HA!

If you try to build a bridge but don't show up with the bolts to hold it together it is going to fall apart.
And then there always has to be the guy who didn't bring any bolts himself but will repeatedly offer the opinion that "your bolts are inadequate for the job".
You have used a censored word. Please remove this word. <-- Please kiss that word.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to MaxFortune again.
