I actually asked KlixKilla to spoil the objects combat rules for us to clarify, since he has a starter in hand. But seriously I remember reading this somewhere. I just can't find it now...

This is my 2000th post, got some rumors on some of the stuff Wizkids/Neca Heroclix, that I thought I might pass it along. Have no facts to back it up. A venue owner I know told me that he was told some things about BatB that is coming in April.
We know about the mail away, but there maybe a chance that there is still going to be a figure given away when you buy one brick, it will be the 8th blackest night figure Black Latern Superman. That is unless they put that figure in the starter kit, but they may not as this figure may promote getting the Blackest Night starter.
The chase figures in BatB will be duo figures; Superman/Batman with Superman/Batman allies TA on peanut base, and the second one is Green Arrow/Black Canary on the peanut base (they have no TA).
The rules in the Blackest Night starter does have some changes within;
Outwit may require a dice roll to see if it works. Something like using a character's unmodified attack against a opponent's unmodified defense, if successful the outwit works. Or it may work something like outsmart.
Outwit, Perplex and Probability Control range maybe reduce to 8 squares from 10 squares. Or it maybe base on the characters range, if the character has 0 range then it will be 4 square range.
Giants will have the carry ability without the token nonsense.
Giants no longer need to be 2 squares away to destory blocking terrain.
Light and Heavy objects damage will be consistant, so whether the object is thrown or used in close combat it will do +2 points if light, +3 points if heavy.
There maybe changes with the Injustice League TA and the JLA TA.
The PAC will have smaller lettering then what is used in the FF PAC.
The rule book will be about 20 pages and a lot smaller then the FF rulebook.
Here is something I find hard to believe, that all characters can pick up light objects, but you need super strength to pick up heavy objects.
That is all I got, again I am just pass along the information.
But given that pretty much every single thing in that post has turned out to be incorrect and I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere else, I tend to believe it's not true.

Norm earlier in this thread said that the SS rules are essentially unchanged, but this line about canceling SS was added for clarity. I believe that because of that, your assumption is correct. Picking up all objects will require SS.
BARRIER: Give this character a power action; put up to four blocking terrain markers in adjacent squares of clear terrain that are all within this character’s range. A character with a range of 0 uses this power as if it has a locked range of 1. This character must have a clear line of fire to at least one of the terrain markers. The terrain markers remain until the beginning of your next turn.
That doesn't mean that they don't come down if you lose the power or have it countered. By the same reasoning, one could say that you can't destroy a Barrier token.
It's a general rule that if a power is lost or countered, then its long-lasting effects end. Check out things like the Jokerfish and Trigon's Dopplegangers for confirmation.

It's my understanding that you still need SS to pick up any object.
no def not trolling you just cant legitimately answer my question and NORM dissappear because im right... so until you tell me how i can now cancel SS... while holding my object(say its the Black Lantern) and continue holding it... why even State that i can cancel SS with out the new option opening up for me to cancel SS and hit for natural damage and continue to hold the "black lantern"
please
they are pretty much saying once you have picked up an object you don't let go until you use it in an attack. i disagree with how that keeps things simple but i guess its a gamble when your using something like a lantern.
For what it's worth, this will have been the last time I decide to say to myself "yeah, I'm about to go to bed, but this guy PM'd so he probably feels it's important so I'll pop online again and help out." Because apparently, if I don't hang around online for hours after posting to justify my answer, that somehow means I don't know what I'm talking about.
Super Strength can be canceled. The power states pretty darn clearly that when it's canceled, you do not drop the object. Can we all agree to that?
So regardless as to whether a character is using Super Strength or a special power that grants (possess or use) Super Strength or a trait that grants (possess or use) Super Strength, if the thing is canceled (assuming it can be), then a carried object remains carried. Can we all agree to that?
What does the FF rulebook have to say about a character carrying an object?
Question 1 - is the character with the canceled Super Strength holding an object? (Yes, he is, because even canceled, you continue to carry an object)
Question 2 - is the character making a close combat attack? (Yes, he is, though I'll point out there are exceptional close combat attacks mentioned later in that sentence not germane to this topic)
Conclusion... it must be used in the attack.
This does not change substantially in the Blackest Night rulebook.
So the definition of CANCEL has changed k got it thank you...
