this opinion is repeated many times over on these forums. I'm not putting words in your mouth, I'm grouping you together with others who've made similar statements.
sorry. but you know, sometimes these things happen in debate.
PS> I can rep anyone who's opinion I agree with, enjoy, or like. I don't require your approval.
I'm not saying you do I'm just saying its rather churlish to do so. I mean hell don't limit yourself to that. You can rep people you hate, dislike, detest, want to defenstrate. You can do whatever you want. As can I, Such as pointing out the lack of "Logic".
By saying one side is logical and one is not... such as in this case, you're speaking in absolutes.
So you're choosing because I'm merely mentioning a possibility (Not endorsing or condoning) you choose to group me with other people. And Stick what is meant to be pejorative labels.
So you're essentially stereotyping me by assuming I adhere to those same ideas. I mean I OBVIOUSLY am a super set collector and that's why I sold My collection of five years because I thought It was getting stale and decided I might start having fun again if I had less options and wasn't burdened with my enormous collection.
Fair enough. But It ceases being a debate when you start slinging Mud.
Back to the subject at hand I forgot to make a list of properties I wouldn't mind seeing:
Thunderbolts
Suicide Squad
Yeah a short list but I'd really like to see those teams get filled out more.
Oh Well I suppose I iz just ignant (Cues Dueling banjos)

At one point, the chase Alfred was worth well over $100, but he dropped to around $60 once Alpha came out.
I don't care if they reprint chases or not--but to say that it wouldn't affect the secondary market is simply wrong.
the other chases from that set have also dropped in value. what's that say?
and this is the real crux: who cares if the value of retired chases drops?
most people who were chasing them own them now. Any retailers who might have to drop prices on those old chases collecting dust waiting for a sucker to buy them can make even more money off the profits they make selling a dozen former-chase collector sets.
If someone was willing to shell out $100 for a Heroclix figure, that's on them. There was never a guarantee that they would retain their value indefinitely. Wizkids should be thinking about how to make money by providing products at a low cost to a large group of customers who will pay top dollar for it, not hoping to appease the customers that already have the product in hand, who are in the minority, an infinitesimal fraction of whom might be lost over a petty issue like that and leaving the game. I mean, let's face facts, those chase owners who might be upset are some of the most hardcore collectors... if 5-10 figures in their collection lost value, what percentage of them are going to quit the game over it? I would postulate that the percentage, in reality, (not what they would say, but what they would do,) would be very very low.

I am not promoting debate, but I do want to ask this question: how many chases topped the $100 on release and now sell for $60? This is a purely inquisitive question as I do not know the answer, but have heard people say things to the extent of "Don't buy it now, wait for it to drop to $60." That and I traded a Black Hand for $100 wort of uniques right after release, and now he is worth anywhere from $50 to $85 giving ebay a quick look over.
Humm.... This would be intersting... pretty much the only way to get me would be to have a Daredevil-centric set. It would need to include tons of new villains and more playable versions of older clix (also accounting for modern age updates).
1) Matt Murdock AE
2) Daredevil AE- I'd want him to be the DD equivalent to the 120pt Batman.
3) Rookie DD- yellow costume.
4) Armored DD- The costume is god-awful, but i want it in this set.
5) Shadowland DD- Black costume, dial featuring Mastermind and leadership.
6) Foggy Nelson
7) Leap Frog
8) The Jester
9) Stilt Man
10) Power Man
11) Ben Urich
12) White Tiger
13) Black Tarantula
14) Black Widow
15) Typhoid Mary
16) Purple Man
17) Mr. Fear
18) Kingpin- I want one much meaner the HoT
19) Gladiator
20) Mr. Hyde/Cobra Duo
21) Stick
22)Battlin' Jack Murdock
23)DD/Black Widow Duo
24)DD/Elektra Duo
25) DD/Spidey Duo
The day they announced that Alfred was in Alpha, I sold the chase for $195 on ebay--he wasn't new by that point.
Again-I don't give a rat's ### if they reprint them or not...but it WOULD affect the secondary market.
@ Hellboy:
You seem like a reasonably intelligent guy-but it weakens your point when you call collectors "elitist snobs" and (proudly) lump people into groups so you can argue against straw men...

Nice list but if it a Daredevil set I would like a Bullseye
Yeah, that was pretty enjoyable, truth be told.
I was born and raised on turtles. Those stupid characters are probably my favorite fictional characters of all time.
Why though, I sometimes ask myself, couldn't I have been raised on something more dignified?
Like pro-wrestling or science facts?
Oh well. Back to my Turtles obsession then.
This was supposed to be a fun hypothetical "I would pay a Grumpy Goat Leg for this set" kid of thing. Ignore the $200 price tag.
Well, O.K., I get that. But what if part of the fun is entertaining the rather scary (among other things) notion of a boxed collector's set priced at $200?
To me, that sounds kinda like the clix equivalent of the $100 hamburger --- and I don't mean the aviation slang term, but the actual $100 burger that's on the menu at some Boca Raton steakhouse.
Even so, I'm sure that there are some folks in our hobby who would cough up $200 for a 25-piece Green Lantern Corps boxed set, especially if it's marketed as being limited/numbered.
While I'm a DC fan, I know that I'd want to seek out four people to split the set below with me, which would include, among other characters, the All-Winners Squad and the ones found in "The Twelve."
Timely Comics Golden Age Collector's Set
1. Capt. America
2. Human Torch
3. Submariner
4. Whizzer
5. Miss America
6. Bucky
7. Toro
8. The Angel
9. The Vision
10. The Thunderer
11. Red Raven
12. The Destroyer
13. Citizen V
14. Blue Blade
15. The Black Widow
16. Capt. Wonder
17. Dynamic Man
18. Electro
19. Fiery Mask
20. Laughing Mask
21. Master Mind Excello
22. Mister E
23. Phantom Reporter
24. Rockman
25. Witness
If I'd had another slot, I'd slip in Black Marvel, but since I didn't -- and didn't want to break up "The Twelve" -- he fell off the table...
