Because Spiral has such a huge fanbase?

Yeah, you are. She was pretty damn good in previous games, so among those that play these games competitively, it isn't uncommon to see people like her.

If we get Spiral in MvC3 I am going to lose my mind. In the greatest way possible, I will lose my entire mind.

I think the main problem is that the game is probably going to be rebalanced quite a bit, so favourites from a competitive perspective might get passed over in favour of more popular characters.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, or at least it's more appealing than bringing back competitive favourites and nerfing them, making the whole point of including them useless.

I highly doubt she is returning, to be honest with you. They are trying to regulate the number of X-men and Street Fighter characters that get into this game, since the majority of previous rosters were such. I would love to see Omega Red return, myself.

Not exactly. The best characters in marvel vs capcom 2 were magneto, storm, and sentinel. Magneto and Storm have returned (both still look ridiculous, by the way) and I wouldn't be shocked if we get a character that plays like sentinel. You know, the way Dormammu replaced Black heart. Anyway, Mag and Storm are really popular characters regardless of their standing.

Here is hoping the game is much more balanced than mvc2.

Oh, I know the chances of Spiral returning involve a snowball and the fires of Hades...but it's nice to dream. Besides, I'm a sucker for the non-human characters in fighting games (when they're available, anyway). Spiral could join Shuma Gorath and Amaterasu on my team.

Kinda funny the best characters in MvC 2 was Ice Man (no chip damage), Cable (unstopable super), and Black Heart.

My personal Favorites were Guile, Doom, Rogue.

Actually, as the tier list dictates, the top 4 characters are Sentinel, Storm, Magneto, and Cable in that order.

Yeah Sentinel in the hands of a pro was beastly. He was the only one I had a problem with when I was serious with Spiral. Spiral ate Cable for breakfast, Mags for Lunch and Storm for dinner. Her insta teleport was great for breaking out of traps.

Thats only what one person thinks it should be. They even mention MvC will not release the infomation.

No, that would be the tier list for marvel vs capcom 2. After a decade of tournaments and dissections of the game, that's a pretty damn accurate tier list.

Still no third Darkstalker announcement, but it's being said that the build of the game at CES has more than just Haggar and Phoenix as new characters. Hopefully we'll hear more as the weekend goes on. My quest for Hsien-Ko continues...

I am pumped for Haggar! Finally he gets some respect. It's been over a decade since he last took out the trash!

Pheonix is lame though. Maybe she'll play well, but I always hated Jean.


Hsien-ko would be awesome too. I used her a ton in Darkstalkers, even though I would have preferred Sasquatch, Anakaris, or Jon Talbain. I know gameplay matters over looks, but I wish the series had at least one monstrous and goofy representative instead of just cherry picking the hotties.
