Why the heck would they reprint Alpha figures? Icons bats and Legacy Joker were awesome, and the Alpha Robin with that sculpt may have been awesome for 30 points, but he's so easy to get...
I like that the Mega Pack has a different character selection. Dial selection should be 50-50 for maximum variety, as not all of the Alpha remakes will be playable.
Ideally, I'd give a few of the Alpha characters team abilities or traits, and re-cost them appropriately. The dial would be untouched, and as a result, this would only involve adding an extra element to the character card. I'm hoping that this is the case.
You know what amuses me most about reprinting Alpha figures?
Classics is what Alpha was supposed to be in the first place, at least in terms of mass-market penetration.

I was hoping to highlight this initially with my "reprinting reprints" thing but it didn't get worded right.
Suffice it to say, yeah, I'm amused as well.
That sorta makes me curious, though, why they'd whole-hog reprint the F4 starter, when they're already out there as Classics Packs [and far, far cheaper]? Why not bundle the reprinted Danger Room set or something, and pack in the new rules there? Mix it up a bit, and at least offer something new [even if they're new reprints.] The F4 re-release is like a triple-dip.
Uh, wasn't this already done? I believe it was called Batman Alpha.
Well, no... see, Alpha actually had new dials.
Dials which were 100% compatible with baseline HeroClix.
Which, according to many posters here, should have guaranteed them phenomenal success.
While I don't deny that Topps!WK botched the marketing and especially the distribution of Alpha, I still look at them as a bit of an object lesson on the "wisdom" expressed by so many people. Kinda like Untold Tales of Spider-Man as the counter to "cheaper comics would sell more!"
I hope it comes with a real size map and not that 6x8 or whatever it was in the Iron man pack. Most all the characters outranged the map and IM had double range running shot. Kinda sad really.
I wanted to like the little map, the old Marvel starter with spidey and wolverine is about as small as you can go and still be playable.
it couldn't take so much staff time to make a dial for 7 figures. that should take no time at all really. war machine was a clear example of pretty much everything u said, but with a new dial. that new dial made everyone(even ppl who had the old one) want one.
Yes, it really could take so much staff time to develop 7 dials that would excite people, are interesting, and are playtested to the point of accuracy and unbrokenness.
We don't know who's doing what over there but we are seeing a very aggressive release schedule and we know they don't have much staff.
I love having more product, not less, but new content does take time and I don't need new dials on classics reprints. I'd rather have that staff time go into creating awesome new sets with new figures.
Comical, Woolverine, Pop of Pop's Culture Shoppe and Wellsboro Comic Con.
