I like big expensive figures with cool SPs but the current Theme Team rule (one charactor per hundred points) means we're stuck with really only two team options tent pole or swarm. I would love nothing more than to field a classic Avengers team maybe Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, maybe some version of The Hulk. Sure there is Rookie Clobbering Time Thor oh that's right HE SUCKS. I've said it before just give the players a set number like 4 any 4 figures that share a T.A. or Keyword doesn't matter if it's 1000 point match now I can field The Mighty Thor, Thanos, Odin, and Phyla-Vell, hey look Power Cosmic theme team. Or The Incredible Hulk 113, Thor 224, Iron Man 188, Captain America 72 hey look 597 point Avengers Theme that's modern age legal. It's either Wizkids starts producing pieces that make theme teams easier to build like a 100 point Thor or just abandon the mechanic. We see charactors like Odin, Thor, Hela, and Balder team up all the time and yet those four figures ARE NOT THEME. So I propose that Wizkids either change it's rules or stop producing figures above a certain value especially now in the "Bondage Age" when we can no longer round out teams with feats.
Modern Age is a format for official NECAWK events. How many of those are there a year, a half-dozen in the best of times? If your venue is using that format and you don't like it, I propose talking to your judge.
FWIW I'm against retirement of characters. It's not a mechanic for game balance, but to drive sales. So, I object when my judge says "Modern Age" with his tournament rules. Next week it's "600 pts Modern Age, all character have to have the same team symbol". Talk about restrictive! Fortunately, he doesn't use Modern Age often, because it's not a required format for local events.
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash

I know this is insane, but hear me out... what if... now just hear me out here... what if... we didn't use a theme. I know it's crazy! But maybe it's so crazy it'll work!

Meh. I like theme. Its good for ya.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?
I could really go for the following to be made. IMO..we need a new, and cheaper ares. The one from 2 or 3 sets ago was too expensive. i know he's the god of war, but 275 pts? c'mon guys, gotta make him more playable. i'd really like to see a Ms. Marvel/ dr. Karla Sofen AE, Robert reynolds-sentry/ The Void AE, Bullseye as Hawkeye from the dark reign series, maybe a Nohvarr/captain marvel, or a daken/wolverine. I REALLY want to see a BLACKHEART fig..screw Mephisto.

We've been running Silver Age it's effectively Modern Age with the only real restriction being Colossal charactors but that still means I'd need eight charactors for theme on an eight hundred point team. Which means either Swarm or Tent Pole we we both know that's not the case go read JLA. It's always Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, The Flash, Green Arrow, and Plastic Man. Go head try to field that as an eight hundred point team and that's my point we get to see The Fantastic 4 abused like nobodies business because each member is roughly 100pts or less. If we went straight to a flat minimum number we we wouldn't have such a broad disparity where not being theme could mean the difference between winning and losing. I've seen it happen Map choice, Going first, getting those theme team prob controls, all stack the deck against players who don't have theme or don't have enough figures to make theme.

You do realize it is an AVERAGE of 150 points a fig for NON-generic and 100 per fig for generic, right? JLA would give you 150 a piece and help you make that 800 build unless you don't know how to team build. So for an 800 point game. You would only need 6 figures for an 800 point JLA theme team. (800/500 = 5.33333 and you have to have the extra fig for the fraction thereof RULEBOOK READING FTW)

Again if one crunches the numbers it comes out to five 150 point figures and 50 points left over my point is the it shouldn't matter what the build total is. Let's say a player had all four BL Chase figures and wanted to run them in a Golden Age format tournament with some Special Objects plus a bunch of feats should that play not have the right to claim theme. I'd certainly grant that to him even though he's only got 4 figures

No keywords??......... Heroclix has always used this restrictive......er, creative gameplay structure. I can't imagine a time when my choices were unlimited.
