I realize there are people who's favorite character is Nightwing, but....whatever.
I'm loving Grayson as Batman.
Nightwing was a change from Robin, and Batman is a change from Nightwing.
As one of those "whatever"s I would like to emphasize something.
I see Robin becoming Nightwing as an evolution, as well as Robin to Red Robin, but Nightwing/Red Robin to Batman is not an evolution, it's a change. I hope you get what I mean there.
Grayson is Nightwing as much as Tim is becoming Red Robin...I just don't see Dick as Batman. An animal of a different sort.
What we do in life echoes in eternity!
Respect is a given, only disrespect can be earned.
i'm a big fan of batman and with great love i think no! no! no two batmans. the world needs one Dark knight. Grayson is a great hero, but he is no batman! Some villains already see that Grayson isn't the Batman Wayne was and have taken advantage and outplayed him. With the appearance of 2 Batmans i reckon villains will rage and kill the not as smart Grayson, and i won't be suprised if DC does that for a twist, they like to do that a lot, look at the recently deceased Ryan Choi. and i like Grayson too much to let him die!
i have plenty to use for judgement on morrison, he needs to stay from mainstream characters
I feel that way about Bendis. Give him something to start with from scratch, like in the Ultimate Universe, and it's fine. Just keep him away from mainstream/established characters.
On the topic of Damien, my problem with him is that he barely has any redeeming qualities. They try to make him out like a badass, but he just comes off like a punk.
You would think that Dick would know better than to let this kid just basically be a savage. He has no friends, or life outside of being Robin. I'd like to see Chris Kent rescued from the Phantom Zone, and have Dick set up Chris and Damien on a play date or something.
It would go something like this. Dick realizes that Damien needs a friend (after all, the Titans were as a much a support group as a crime fighting team). When Chris is rescued from the Phantom Zone, Dick and Clark set up a meet, as Chris is also depressed, recovering from trauma of the war of the Supermen. Damien tries to attack Chris, because that's just what the punk would try. Even though he uses Kryptonite, he fails to defeat him. Just as Chris starts to get angry, some emergency comes up that forces them to put aside their differences and work together, unintentionally forming a friendship. Iris West (Impulse) sees them on live tv, and races out to meet them and to help. That would be the first issue or two of my new version of Young Justice. Future issues would include Iris using the Speed Force to counter-act Chris's accelerated aging, and the original Young Justice members acting as mentors.
I had a very similar idea a year ago... but it included a little girl getting a crush on Damien to help start the team... poor poor Lian =[
I suspect that a lot of the various "Batmen" won't really call themselves Batman.
El Gaucho, for example, will probably maintain his own ID. While he was inspired originally by Batman, I can't see him going down the full-on copycat/direct agent mode. From what I hear of the comic he'll be in, El Gaucho is most definitely his own man.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
PREVIEW: "Batman" #702
DC Comics has released a look at "Batman" #702, where Grant Morrison and Tony Daniel revisit "Final Crisis" and "Batman R.I.P." to fill in the blanks leading to Bruce Wayne's return. Questions will be answered August 25

Time and tide have given us all these extra Robins that are made out of the sliding timescale necessity to have Batman with a sidekick, yet Dick couldn't remain Robin forever. The comics have definitely grown away from the idea of Dick donning the cowl, but as a kid I always empathized with the idea that once Bruce gave it up, his successor would obviously be his 'son'.
It's just now he has 12.5 sons...and a couple of daughters.
I'm a fan of Dick Grayson (and I guess that's more than a fan of 'Nightwing'), but whatever costume he wears is less important than there being a need for Batman, and so I think what he did by becoming Batman is exactly what he should have done.

My question is, How big of an issue will this be, 200 pages?
There are a lot of questions needing answers.
Issue #701, the first part of the 2 part story already came out. We've already learned how Bruce Wayne survived the helicopter crash and made it to the surface and eventually back to Wayne Manor, severely beaten up. During a far-too-brief convalescence, he takes the call from Superman to come help in the investigation regarding the deaths in Final Crisis.
That one issue already made very explicit a lot of what Morrison had already implied in Final Crisis. We still have one more issue.
The only other questions I can imagine that people could even have that weren't answered there are still ongoing plot points being addressed in either Batman & Robin or The Return of Bruce Wayne. Obviously he's not going to address those in these issues.
What other questions do people seriously have?
