Job interview seemed to go well. He said he wants me catch a show and sree first hand how a show is teched and run. He also said he is interviewing other people, so we will see what happens.

Technical Director and Stage Manager for a comedy show at a dinner theater. I need to actually see one of their shows and watch their current tech director at work to get a better feel. I plan to do that Thursday.

Yes and no. Bards aren't necessarily people who use musical instruments, etc. They could also be eccentric speakers and such.

In combat, Bards either use a sword, a wand, or a bow. There are actually three different builds, that use one of those three. Out of combat, they can do whatever they want, that makes them a Bard. They could just be a storyteller.

When they perform Bard rituals (rituals is basically the out-of-combat spells mechanic in 4th), they are supposed to use a musical instrument as a focus, but I know two DMs that don't enforce it simply because of the above paragraphs, and I don't think I would, either.

There are some magical items that will work as musical instruments, though. Like Songbows, Songblades, and the like.

The Bard that I play, I just have music fill the room while he fiddles with his wand every now and then. When he is in combat, he "conducts" the fight with it.

There's a Bard in Seattle. He wears a sign that says "I am Jesus" and yells at people about the government. He seems all right.
