Side note on the Groot shape Change question (I dont have the rules in front of me bear in mind):
Groot has colossal sprout, is next to Sandman (WoS) on his 'fail breakaway take damage' power.
1) Groot attacks Sandman.
2) Sandman rolls shape change.
3) Groots only action he can take is a move. Would his Collosal status give auto breakaways? I know all 4x4 or larger collosals state they auto breakaway, but it doesnt say that with Groot, nor does it state he ignores plasticity, so would he be forced to roll a breakaway , and potentially take 1 click from Sandmqn?

Colossal Size
(NON-OPTIONAL) Only characters with the symbol
block lines of fire to or from this character. A character
with this ability ignores the effects of hindering, elevated,
and outdoor blocking terrain on movement. This character
can’t be knocked back and can make ranged combat attacks
against non-adjacent opposing character when they are
adjacent to opposing characters. This character and a
character on elevated terrain draw line of fire and make
ranged combat attacks against each other as if they were
both elevated. This ability can’t be countered.
There's nothing in there about break away, so he has to roll it. (He doesn't even get the normal giant reduction or ignorance of Plasticity.)
Unless you have Groot using the Force Field Generator he's got no use for any move actions that don't move him.
Ooh, is that the Joeldad that invented LAMP, or the one that invented the Revengers, or just some poser. Some poser, probably. You go to any forum and you find a dozen Brad Pitts, a few Sates and a Joeldad or 2. It's the burden of celebrity.
Wait, Barrier isn't a move action any more, is it? Yeah, I declare the question, "can I give a figure that cannot be moved a move action?" answered. This thread is now closed.

The most arrogant think their view is the only normal one.
Because Groot only has a range of 4 when he is Colossal.
If he can't move, all your opponent has to do is move 5 squares away and then take your time blasting him without fear.
And if there is nothing to attack within 4 squares (no walls, no objects, no blocking terrain, etc), you can't even assign Groot combat actions to push him and maybe get him to a click where he can move again and get back into battle.
The whole issue of "0 move" versus "no movement" was a possible remedy to that situation. If Groot can't even be assigned a move action at all, he's completely hosed in the situation I described above. If, however, you can assign him a move action (even a move action that doesn't do anything), you could potentially push him.

I am the one and only joeldad I know of.
I didnt invent Lamp, but I did invent the old JokerLAMP/ Sentinel combo and the Suicide Squad/pog combo right after Legacy.
I cant take credit for the revengers as a whole, Vaultis_Drude, Wildonion, TheBoyBlunder , and others helped.

Although can Groot (colossal) even be given a move action?

I'm not sure, but I would say that nothing restricts you from giving him a move action.
(Note: The following is a ruling with which I disagree with every fiber of my being.)
At the very least, you should be able give him a power action which does nothing.
I'm basing this on the rulings on Parasite and Super Adaptoid. They have Defense Drain which activates when they are given a power action. On at least on of them, there is a click where there is no power which is a power action. It was ruled that you can give an "empty" power action which does nothing itself, but it allows you to activate the Defense Drain alongside it.
The Players GD says Parasite can not be given a power action to activate Defense Drain. but you can Give him a power action to do nothing and activate Defense Drain seems to be against the intent of the PG clarification.

Harpua stepped back from that later in the discussion (post 45).
The issue has been resolved. Groot cannot be given a move action when he can't be moved.
From the Player's Guide:
So if Groot can't attack an adjacent figure because they roll shape change he 'doesn't do anything' but still is considered to have taken an action and therefore tokened?

If he can't take any action at all, it seems he wouldn't get a token and wouldn't be considered to have taken a non-free action.
