So I take it that the opinion on Alter Egos is a bit mixed.
I recently used AE Bruce Wayne, and he did quite well. He proved quite annoying, as he was able to Outwit and then tie up characters with close combat 19 defense. Then he did the "pee pee dance" to "Hulk up" into Batman (oh the irony).
I can definitely see the strategic/tactical value in how AEs work. For the record, this was before thugit started bragging on Bruce Wayne in the forum.
So with this positive experience lingering in my head, I was looking through my collection and came across Beast Boy, and it hit me: the AE mechanic would be perfect for shape changers! You could have a AE Beast Boy and then maybe a couple other "beast" versions for him to transform into.
This is probably a point that several others have already come to, but it struck me as such an awesome idea that I had to post about it.
Dagnabit! I was gonna make it a point not to get any SRs this set. I was just gonna do sealed games and buy a CUR set online. But I have to have at least one, if not multiples, of that awesome way underpriced T-Rex.
Heck 5 T-Rex's on a 300 point game would have a decent chance of winning a whole tournament. Which means this is going to be a pricey SR on the secondary market.
--Edit-- Oh and the entire set of four is awesome! Fantastic way to represent Beast Boy. Would love to see this for Plastic Man some day too, only with different shapes. Not sure who else could be done this way but it was a perfect way to represent Beast Boy.
Oh and I hope future sets have other shapes that work in tandem with this figure. Gorilla, rhino, pteradactyl, a cute little bunny... the possibilities are endless.
Heck maybe a whole set just devoted to his various shapes... okay now I'm just rambling.
Ummm... How do you K.O. him? If he can change to any of those forms at any time wouldn't it be kinda hard to kill him? Or does whatever click Beastboy himself is on judge the click that the beast is on as well?
I mean changing to T-rex, then getting hit for 5 and immediately changing to a full life bear or cheetah is kinda nasty for 60 points.
You missed the part that said when you change forms you start on whichever click you were on in the previous form. It really shouldn't be too hard to KO him at all, but for 60 pts, what do you expect? He's awesome, and a great innovative design for the game.
It's about time we got a useable Gar. This is the coolest looking piece from the set so far. One question, what's up with the cheetah? Is he laying down?
