Thor brought his enchanted hammer, Mjolnir, down upon Groot, smashing the wooden Guardian. The impact of the blow was immense, and the shockwave could be felt for miles.

The massive treelike alien staggered, then put down roots, digging deep into the earth. Then absorbing nutrients from the soil, Groot grew to immense size, until he towered above his opponents.

"I AM GROOT!"

Yet, the Thunder God was undeterred. Thor struck with Mjolnir again, and this time, the force of the blow proved irresistable. Groot's bark hide cracked, and he toppled to the ground.
