I see I haven't calculated the IAPs for this issue/battle yet!... I also would like to write a sort of epilgue with Hank and the Soul Gem... Do you have any further guidelines, esteemed editors?...
“Jan!” Ant-Man shouted. He hurried over to the Wasp, whom the Sub-Mariner had just knocked out. Ant-Man alit atop the unmoving form of Namor, the Sub-Mariner. The diminutive Avenger’s brow was furrowed in an expression of anger. From below, his visage was illuminated by a green glow emanating from his hand.
‘Yessss!’ Ant-Man seemed to hear – or feel. His desire to take revenge upon Namor for knocking out the woman he loved was being fed by the Soul Gem.
“Stay thy hand!” Thor exclaimed. The powerful Thunder God stood next to Hank and gave him pause. It was as though Thor had known what Ant-Man had been considering – or been goaded into considering.
Slowly, yet with a shock, Hank realized that he had lost his scientific distance. His capacity for analysis had been overwhelmed by emotion. It was practically a new feeling for him. Even in the most intimate moments with Jan…
“We have the gem Thanos is seeking,” Thor reminded him. “We should return to our compatriots and make sure their quests go as well.” The Asgardian reached down and picked up the tiny, unconscious form of the winsome Wasp.
“Is she… alright?” Hank asked. His normal composure seemed lost for the moment.
“Aye,” Thor replied. “The Atlantean had but little strength remaining. Thine beloved shall recover quickly.”
For his part, Thor suppressed some concern, too. He glanced at Valkyrie, who lay senseless nearby. Well aware that she was made of tough stuff and would recover soon, he let his thoughts rest briefly on her questionable deeds. Brunnhilde had always been an outstanding warrior and strong in her convictions. Her... relationship... with his son was perhaps troublesome, but Thor knew little about it.
‘Is it for me to judge?’ thought Thor. He turned his head back to his teammates. “Let us go, Ant-Man. The Avengers have triumphed here today, but I fear more battles await us.”
Far away – yet not so far away – Odin, the All-Father, sat upon his throne in Asgard. To his left and right, perched atop the throne, sat his two ravens, Huginn and Muninn. The two stately birds made quiet noises, and Odin nodded in acknowledgement as he listened to their accounts. “Aye,” muttered Odin, “things are not always as they appear. Brunnhilde might have failed this day, but her valor is true. More is afoot than has been revealed thus far…”
