i saw the gravfeed hulk and red hulk last night.
miniscule!
i know these are "minis" but come on.
they are much smaller than any hulk i remember.
and cosmic hulk is the same skulpt as the other hulks but with some power around the hands.
their like baby hulks.
I'm ok with them reusing sculpts as long as they are good. That Hulk sculpt is very nice it's just too bad it is so darn small. What a joke. Who thought that sculpt was a good idea?
At least now there is a Hulk with the skin color to match his smurf-like stature. Shame on you, NECA.
I'm also curious where you are getting this "data" about cost price increases. To re-use a phrase, "pics or it didn't happen."
I would like to see this "data" as well. NECA/Wizkids isn't reusing sculpts as a way to cut costs to avoid increasing booster prices for the consumers. They are doing it to put more money in their pockets. It's as simple as that. I might believe that they were trying to cut costs for the consumers if they weren't mass producing and releasing new Heroclix merchandise at a very fast rate, reusing the same sculpts over and over, charging for prize support, forcing venues to order more product to participate in "special" events, clixing every license they can get their hands on and increasing the costs of other items like the Toys R Us exclusives.
Yes, prices on things like oil go up, but they go down as well and they don't always effect things as drastically as some people would lead you to believe. Don't think for a second that they won't increase the cost of boosters if they think they can get away with it. They are a business and they are in it for the money. If they can find new ways to cut costs while still selling the same amount of product and put more money in their pockets, then they will. It's what business do. They don't care about saving the players money.

You're demonizing this businesses and practically every business on the whole. Yes, businesses don't strive to make people save money in regards to their product - because doing so would go against many of the fundamental values of owning and operating a business. Businesses exist to turn a profit, it's as simple as that, and it's nothing that should be seen as a bad thing. Sure, there are corrupt businesses out there that actually maliciously try to harm their customers and their wallets, but nothing WizKids and NCEA is doing is sending up any red flags that would prompt us to think they are like that.
Times are tough these days as well, and so it's to be expected that not everything that we took for granted during the good financial years is going to be available in a recession. Artists could be charging more for sculpts, the cost to create a new mold could have risen, or any number of issues could have occurred that made WizKids think it a better idea to reuse an older sculpt than commission a new one. They could even have a surplus of older, unpainted, and unused sculpts that they wanted to make use of. It could be anything. Point of the matter is, you don't know why they're using old sculpts, so give them the benefit of the doubt and be grateful that they're continuing to create a game you enjoy.
Some people will complain about anything. I love the dial and the sculpt. He seems really fun to play, and one of my major wants from the set other than Black Bolt.

My point is that just about every time there are complaints about resused sculpts (which there have been a lot of) someone is always quick to say that Wizkids does it to avoid price increases for the consumers. I hardly believe that is the case at all where Wizkids is concerned. Nothing that NECA has done since taking over Wizkids and producing Heroclix has led me to believe that they are cutting costs for the sake of the consumers. In fact, I see it as the complete opposite. They as a business are trying to maximize their profits any way they can and one of those ways is to reuse sculpts.
Also, I believe they fired their remaining traditional sculptors in favor of digital sculpting which also saved them money.
I guess they have officially ditched the Super Rare's are a little something extra philosophy. Really two SR's that share a sculpt with a generic? On the plus side that makes this set a lot cheaper for me, but still geez.
I wonder how many sets it will be until they just make one generic man figure and one generic woman figure and repaint them 30 times each. My guess is Mighty Avengers.
Why are people afraid of price increase? It's not like we're going to get 18 dollar six figure boosters or anything...
I can guarantee you that I am not going to get to 18 dollar six figure boosters. I bought my last booster with Superman and the second I don't like the prices of the secondary market I won't think twice about my heroclix spending becoming Arkham Horror, Defenders of The Realm, Lord Of The Rings Card Game, Game of Thrones Card Game money. There is too much out there to bother with a product that is too expensive or in the case of the Hulk set cuts too many corners.
I picked up a CUR set for $40, which is the amount I think the product is worth and that will do it for me.
