Not comic accurate at all. What are you thinking? The guy that you responded to is right. Something in his trait should make him get worse as he losses confidence. And yes he should have indom. This guy is a Superman knock off so he should not be under 240 points period. By the same token he should not cost as much as Superman. So what if he crapped the bed faced with CN? They also KOed Thanos with Squirrel Girl!! They write the comics how they see fit and it has nothing to do with a characters actual abilities.
they wreit the comics as they see fit huh? good thing gladioatro is a real life cahracter from history right tell me what are the caractes actual abilities as seen in the comics?? maybe it is, he got very scared when he saw cassadra nova?? in the comics? right??
You need to shut up. That's just crazy talk. Next your going to tell me that your clix don't come to life when you aren't around.
Dude, I actually thought for a few seconds once whether my clix pieces feel honoured to belong to me, and how they happily go to battle for me. I find that worrying.
Verbal Kint: "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist".
Range of 5 is pretty pathetic. Trait is good, but you're paying an awful lot for a first strike weapon that has the potential to go down pretty quick. I won't join the crowd arguing for indomitable on this guy. From his stories, I don't see him deserving it. However, I also can't recall him regenerating in the midst of battle. I think a few more damage reducers would have been more comic accurate. Can anyone give me references to some of Gladiator's regeneration instances.
He doesn't "regenerate" he regains his confidence and belief in himself and powers back up

From the ashes of Paragon City... it rises!
I like him. He's a tad expensive for his base stats but I guess when you can Perplex yourself into the stratosphere (nevermind external support) there has to be a limit somewhere. Look at it this way: he's heavy top loaded so your likely to KO some opposition before you even need to use his trait.
I like him. Given that he's gotten his behind handed to him in every appearance I've ever read him in (I haven't read his newer appearances, but back in the day he was always the guy they showed beat up to get across just how awesome the villain was), I think it's fitting he's a little over-costed maybe.
Cheaper, and just all-around better than the original. Shorter range is not a problem with HSS, especially if he uses Confidence tokens to also use Willpower.
Is this the first figure with flying+Leap/Climb? What's the point in that?
Besides the auto-breakaway:
Meets the Pre-Req for Lunge (and other, lesser feats)
Can make close-combat attacks regardless of elevation
Very uninspired design, yet again. Clearly the "designer" phoned this one in again, using the M&M Unique dial and tweaking a few defensive values and then decided, "He's gotta be powerful so you know what that mean: Hyper Sonic Speed!!!"
He has, basically, Contingency Plan built in. I guess I'll say someone attempted to do something creative - he purposefully sucks until he gains confidence in hitting stuff. Of course Gladiator is overconfident to start so it being revered would have been interesting.
Overall, meh. Not sure he's much more of an improvement over the M&M U to worry about getting him. Especially since WK doesn't seem to be making the Imperial Guard...
And just because I'm on a rant:
Why would Gladiator "Lead from the front" before "Assessing the situation"?
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Why not just rip Gladiator off and put him on the common Superman dial because we all know you won't be satisfied until he's doing 5 damage from 8 squares away.
Even wikipedia says:
"Gladiator's abilities increase and decrease in accordance with his level of confidence"
Yes, he could be stronger, but honestly, would it be that interesting to have another 300pt behemoth? Do people really like those one-man-team figures? At least this guy you can play on a team with another figure/s.
In my mind, Gladiator punches more than he uses his eye beams, so 5 range is PLENTY.
Running Shot + RCE = OPTIONS
I'm not saying his dial couldn't use work, but I'd rather the game stay as far away from making multiple one-man-team figures every set as possible. At least if they do it, give him multiple point values.
Guys, you do realize that you can perplex range right. After reading some posts in this thread I wonder if some of you have actually played the game. With his alpha strike capabilities and high AV you are guaranteed some confidence tokens.

If any Marvel heroclix should absolutely have to have Hypersonic Speed it would be Gladiator.
While I love the trait, the 5(!!!!) range and 8 clicks of life just kills it for me. 7 range minimum and 9 clicks of life minimum for this guy. As others have pointed out, he owned Vulcan, and this dial is SHORTER that Vulcan's and alot less powerful. Granted, Vulcan is overpowered as a clix, but Gladiator is underpowered. Steve Rogers shoots a handgun farther!
Here's hoping the Annihilators pack has a more solid version of him.
Edit: For 195, he's not bad, but not Vet Gladiator.
But that's just it he could spend 10pts for Ambidextrous, target TWO CHARACTORS, and gain two Confidence Tokens every time damage is dealt. If you play him with Frodo Gladiator have WILLPOWER so now Gladiator will accumulate CTs like crazy Gladiator with 8 or 9 uses of perplex at his command is a terrifying prospect. Gladiator WITH AUTO REGENERATION is going to be a real pain to deal with also.
