Walking Dead is always worth the read and worth catching up on. Its the only Black and White comic I read mainly cause I hate black and white comics but its so good I can't pass it up.
Thought some of you might get a chuckle out of my pain. Some of you may remember I have a fear of horses. Like, more than just hate of horses, they scare me. It's a story, but suffice to say, I was dragged a hundred yards or so by one as a kid.
Anyway, I was out for a drive this weekend with my family, looking at open houses, and our last one we visited was in farmland, and we're driving up a road, when coming straight at us is a rider-less horse. About 30 feet behind it is someone chasing it down, and another 100 ft or so someone is on the road, obviously bucked off.
But as the horse trots straight towards the car, I begin to get cold sweats, and my heart starts pounding. My mother-in-law is in the back seat, and she proceeds to put the window down for some reason. I literally curse at her to "Put the [frakkin'] window up, put it up!" Keep in mind, I'm in an SUV, the horse is going *maybe* 3 MPH, but still, I'm panicking.
The horse proceeds to go on and we continue to the open house, but I have the shakes for a good couple of minutes.
Horse fear sucks.
"Why would the possibility of me being wrong ever stop me from doing something?"
Also if you haven't ever read it. Fables is amazingly good. Its about fairy tale characters that are now living in our world most notably in New York and a Farm upstate. Its very gritty and is actually in no way for kids.
Invincible is created by one of the finest comic writer in the business today in my opinion. Kirkman has a gift for story telling that is nearly unsurpassed in today's comic writing.
Also Millar for my money is certainly one of the best as well. Though he has a tough time meeting deadlines a lot.
I remember which Kick-### 2 was starting we waited months between issues. Though he became much more regular after the first few issues.
I do have ot admit though Im getting further and further behind now that my LCS is closed. The owner of the store and I used to do an Indy Comics podcast and we stayed much more up on what was coming out and everything like that.

Oh, that sucks man, I'm lucky enough to have a really strong LCS around that's also a great venue.
Anyway, I'll certainly read some of those recommendations.
the main thing that sucks is now we have no decent comic shops here. There is one but its a hole in the wall and the guy will screw someone if he has the chance.
A kid went into this guys shop while I was there one day and Had a stack of old Fantastic Four Comics and amongst them was the first appearence of Silver Surfer.
The kid had no idea it was worth anything.
The owner of the shop offered like 25 for the stack and the kid took it. After the kid walks out he laughed and said that kid really go screwed. The first appearence issue alone was worth several hundreds of dollars. In addition to the first official appearence the issue before where he is in one panel was also amongst that and it was worth almost as much.
I never shopped there again and thats when I was glad that my friend opened his store. Only to have it close because of the rough economy. Guys that had pulls of 15-20 comics a month dropped back to 2 comics a month and he was just sinking fast.
The other thing that sucks about that is that was the only store that did heroclix here as well. So Ive been out of the clix game since november and likely won't be getting back in as sad as that makes me.

Things like that always make me disappointed, even though I should really know better.
