There is something odd/not going on here regarding GD and playtesting. Some of these pieces are considered top tier pieces, and yet they don't come anywhere near the effectiveness of that jet.
Well, they come near the effectiveness of pieces from DKR i guess... or at least the same stupid design philosophy...
Should i remember you one example

(Damage) Minion: Coordinated Assault: When GCPD Riot Officer is within 8 squares of a higher point character that possesses the Police team ability, he does not need to be adjacent to that character to use the Police team ability.
Invulnerability : He has it because he wears a SHIELD ???
And i don't even take the time of listing all the others strange pieces of this set.
Probably the same game designer behind all those
(i hate him for that, nothing personal, he is ruining the game for me, so i hate it)
THE GOOD WAY TO DO IT is the way JL52 was designed.
No more, no less.
Wizkids, make it change soon in the next sets, or i'm gone.
Since the keyword debuted at the end of the hiatus, I've been opposed to the idea on the grounds that, in heroclix, there really isn't a great way to implement vehicles.
I'm oversimplifying it; the maps are too small.
To expand on that a tad, the maps are designed for a skirmish on a city block or in part of a shopping mall so adding transports is going to be very awkward however you implement it.
Another point to consider is that mobile characters like Superman, Green Lantern, and Silver Surfer really don't have any use for an automobile while "Boots", as they are in heroclix, really have room for extra mobility. How do you implement a game mechanic meant for the likes of Joker and Batman and cater to those types of characters without simply giving Superman and his ilk an even greater leg up? You don't.
"It is not the same thing. It's just you stubbornly not wanting to be wrong."-clameire
The most arrogant think their view is the only normal one.
These vehicles are just a cheap way of playing the heroclix game. Everyone knows how they are going to be played and it's going to piss off alot of people.
At this point wit so much broken stuff around anyway, maybe they're just makin more so broken becomes the entirety of Meta. Pretty soon every fig is gonna be like sentroid or watevs an then no figure will be broken.
wow! what an insane amount of negativity, especially considering that the game impact of these just plain pales in comparison to the gauntlet. I'm pretty sure i can still win a game without a jet going against someone with a jet. Trying to win without a gauntlet against someone with a gauntlet was an uphill battle all the way, (for the record, i was unable to get a gauntlet).
I'm personally really happy about the vehicles, my only complaint is that I think the mechanics could have been a little more simplified but overall I think they did a decent job of representing these. I think it's going to be great fun having games for awhile with vehicles all over the place but like everything, it's temporary. Face it, for the duration of the batman set, there will be vehicles and utility belts all over.
If necessary, I play anti-cheese teams for the current cheeses when playing tournaments, but I play pure comic-book theme teams almost exclusively for casual play (saddest example: my poor, poor wrecking-crew teams are 0 for 6, most surprising success example: my doom patrol teams are somehow 4 for 0). Yes, I enjoy both cutthroat competetive play and casual, "fun" play and I love the fact
that the vehicles are both super playable for competitive play and super thematic for "fun" play (can't wait to play an amazon and super-friends teams with the jet or JLI teams with the beetle ship!).
Anyway, in summary, yay for vehicles! That's my mini-rant, thanks for reading.
At the least Support should not work on vehicles. As "Bones" would say, "I'm a doctor, not a mechanic!"
I also like the idea of implementing a mechanic mechanic. Maybe only certain characters can give support to vehicles; some could even brig them back from the dead.
