he has close combat expert on 5 clixs of his life has a total of 8 clixs and has super strength all his life for 113?! if he lands, damage will be delt plenty
Agreed, very good for the points in my opinion, he's meant to be played with his teammates (WildCATs), so we can expect Voodoo to be packing Probability Control and/or Perplex. If anyone remembers, issue 4 of WildCATs showed Voodoo was able to tame Maul once he was going ape #### against the Daemonites so again, hopefully her figure brings the support that he might need.
Ouch, someone dropped the ball on this guys design. All the other WildCATZ so far have been at least playable but this guy just gives away points. At that cost he is a huge gamble to play on every click of his dial. Like The Hulk before him WizKids can't seem to capture the spirit of his power set.
Everyone calm down....the WILDCats are supposed to be a pretty scrappy bunch. Their ATA will have attack value pumps....just watch and see. You read it here first folks.

This guy is horrible. Not bad, HORRIBLE. All I wanted was a decent 'CATS team after 10 years of waiting and instead we get dials from average to HORRIBLE. I will now be skipping the whole set. Thanks for helping me save more money and good luck selling this stuff.
Nothing wrong with Maul. Seriously. 113 points is right on target. It's true that he doesn't have the AV or mobility to be a team-fronting brick, but in larger point games (5-600), he will rock as a cleanup hitter and defensive wall. I think people are really underestimating his damage potential with all that Flurry, Close Combat Expert and a full dial of Super Strength.
And his last click isn't an attacking click, it's a really hard-to-put-down regen click. Although considering the way some figures' defense values flag in recent sets (as a cost-saving measure, I suspect), he might land hits on his two last clicks more often than one might think, and if he does, that opposing character isn't long for this world.
What an horrible figure. This entire set looks just plain bad. I haven't seen one piece thats playable. Come on dc you can do better.
I completely agree

I don't know what games you play but I won't play Maul even in 900+ games. And maybe his last click is just to be hard to hit and to regen but possessing 4 damage is just another way to say to the player how stupid he is for playing him with that 7 attack value and to add some extra stupidity there is that wonderful special damage power.
WTF... A 7 attack... What a missed opportunity. The WildC.A.T.S. have been OK up to this point but Maul is borderline unplayable.
Upon further thought...

(Defense) Getting..Too...Big: Maul can use Impervious and Regeneration.
(Special) Brute Strength: Maul can use Super Strength; when he moves through a square occupied by or adjacent to a non-held object, he may choose to destroy the object.
(Damage) Half-Titanthrope: Maul has the "giant" damage symbol and can use Close Combat Expert.

(Speed) Squash: The Rampaging Hulk can use Leap/Climb. Immediately after the resolution of a move action in which the Rampaging Hulk uses Leap/Climb, he can use Quake as a free action.
(Damage) Smash: The Rampaging Hulk can use Close Combat Expert. At the end of your turn, if there are fewer than six objects in the game, your last opponent to take an action chooses a light standard object from outside the game and places it 6 or fewer squares from the Rampaging Hulk in an unoccupied square to which the Rampaging Hulk has a clear line of fire.
The dials should have almost been a copy of each other in my opinion. As it is they are similar, just not close enough.
Who put Colossus in a DC set? Wait that's Maul? Er...
With all of the exploit and psy blast out there, this guy is toast. If he wasn't a figure that was on Wildcats I'd never play him. I still might only play him a few times on a scientist team of losers, for my opponent to play. Ok, ok, too harsh? Well I like the sculpt but there is nothing that remarkable about this combination of powers on this dial. ON top of that, everyone across from a team with Maul in it knows what easy points look like.
I suppose I could mod him into one of those Pharaoh guys from DCUO, but aside from that nothing really great to look at here. What else you got?
Scourge (Nuke) : Proud member of the Justice Like Lightning Thunderbolts Clan!
When I looked at Maul the first time I found him rather less interesting. But then all that negative feedback started to come and it made me take another look. And while not perfect I see a lot of fun in this character. Like his 4 and 5 click is flurry with decent attack and 5 damage. That's a lot of potential pain. And if he start out with an object...
Challenging to play well, but not all bad. Just take a better look.
As a close up I'd like to say it's good to see such dials now and then. They make it necessary to think a little outside the box and appreciate diversity. Perhaps even think a little different about how to build a team or which tactics to use? In my book that's a good thing.
I'm disappointed in this one myself. His high damage & high attack just don't match up very well.
I'm still looking forward to having the character & I like the sculpt well enough but I'm disappointed in the dial for sure. That won't keep me from using him in my home games though.
