I'm watching the Knicks/Celtics game and it's horrendous, so I turn it off. The Celts had a whole 49 points and there was 8 or 9 minutes left in the game. If I wanted to see a low scoring game like this, I'd watch college basketball. The Knicks had a 20 something point lead. I get online and look up the score to see how bad it had gotten and I see that at some point, the Knicks must have forgotten how to shoot the ball because the Celtics rallied to almost tie the game.
I need to stop falling asleep and stop turning off blowouts.

Tell me about it. Was keeping an eye on the game while at work, get disgusted and turn it off. By the time I get home, I decide to turn the game on, to at least see what could possibly be KGs last game as a Celtic... and they were down by 6! Insane. We can only wonder what would have happened if Rondo was healthy. Oh well, time to move on the NHL and get warmed up for the NFL.
What's up with all the Nicks fans? Lol. You all better pray amare doesn't come back for the second round while Melo is still playing. The chemistry seems to get worse with both on the floor. I'm liking the Grizz personally. I can see them beating OKC in 6. Especially without Westbrook. Plus I'm pretty sure they have the best defense in the league right now. And Gasol is the arguably the best center in the playoffs. Defense and a damn good big man is what wins championships IMO.
The Celtics just need to get younger and add some more talent.I thought we had them but they came out stone cold in game six. But the Bruins are tied 1-1 and the Pats will have a good year even though some people think it was not a good draft the receivers we got will turn out better than expected.
I'm not worried about Amar'e coming back. They need him for his low post presence. Melo doesn't really get a favorable whistle because his style makes it hard to say who's initiating contact. And he tends to fall in love with the mid range jumper.

Golden state needs to learn how to close out games.
Boy did they blow it last night. 16 point lead with 4 minutes left? Really? THey didn't run their offense and it cost them the game. And the almost did it in game 6 versus the Nuggets. Very poorly done there.
I gotta hand it to the Bulls. They don't win pretty, but they get the job done. Nate Robinson's head injury was a borderline flagrant foul by Lebron, and all they got was a ball out of bounds. If Deng and Hinrich can get healthy enough to come back for Chicago's home games, this could turn into quite the series.
And this has me thinking of when the Pistons won their first title in the 2000s. The Lakers or whoever were the overwhelming favorites to win and the Pistons quietly beat the stuffings out of them. Kind of similar situations. The Heat are clearly the class of the league, but Chicago quietly beat them up last night.
Lifelong Bulls fan. Really awesome seeing them bet the Nets, and even more so last night. Not that I hate the Heat or anything, I actually feel lucky to be able to watch Jordan play and now Lebron. But I'm still going to cheer for the Bulls no matter who they play.
It's really interesting to watch. Common sense says they shouldn't win, with all the injuries they have, they should be down and out. Love their mentality and toughness.
I am waiting until after game 2 though before making any sort of comparisons to a championship winning team.
Oh I agree, it's just one game, but it's strikingly similar to me:
-Dominant powerhouse team after long layoff drops game 1.
-Everyone chalks it up to rust, but is it really?
-The underdog plays with fire and tenacity like nobody's business
I'm not saying it will happen, but a number of the same elements are there. The bigger issue is that the Bulls match up well against the Heat, especially if Deng can come back and help defend Lebron along with Jimmy Butler.
But more than that, a lot of the games Miami lost this season were to teams that had a big, defensive-minded center patrolling the paint.(Gasol, Noah, Chandler, Hibbert). Their drive and kick doesn't work as well if that center can handle the drive and allow his teammates to stay with their man.
Also, Joakim Noah is kind of the Ray Lewis inspirational type for his team. On paper they aren't the most talented, but their drive and determination allow they to hang with anyone.
I'm not saying the Bulls will win this series, but the situation is similar to those in the past and just shows it can be done.

Exactly! Two straight games where they blew double digit leads in the final 5 minutes.

I dunno, two years ago Chicago punched Miami in the mouth hard (and that was with Rose) Miami woke up and won the next 4. I'll have to wait and see.

I will say though, I didn't want the Knicks to see the Bulls until the conference finals. That's the team that worries me the most against the Knicks. Not the Pacers nor the Heat or anybody out West.

I'm guessing you are a Knick fan?
You really think the Knicks > than anyone else in the league but the Bulls?

Ummmmmmm, k.
A. Yes I'm a Knicks fan, I'm not sure how you didn't catch that before
B. Umm, you need to reread my statement. I said no one worries me as much as the Bulls vs the Knicks. Not that the Knicks are greater than any particular team. Just that the Bulls are a match up nightmare for them. No other team in the league presents the type of problems that the Bulls do in regards to the Knicks. Not the Heat, not the Pacers, not the Thunder, not the Spurs nor the Warriors. The Grizzlies come close though for different reasons.
That's not to say the Bulls are the best team left either, just that they present problems that the Knicks would have the hardest time solving. The Grizzlies for example, solves that problem easily as do I think the Spurs and to a lesser extent Indiana.

Don't worry guys, my Heat are gonna sweep the bulls *
Break out the brooms...
All you guys thinking the bulls are gonna win even one more game are in for a rude awakening.
As for your Knicks Kontrol, don't look past the Pacers. I think Roy Hibbert or David West needs to take a 2x4 to J.R. Smith's face. That dude thinks he's way more awesome than he actually is... And don't even get me started on 'Kid & Play' Shumpert...
As for the Golden State Chokers, they were lucky those terribad antics worked against the Denver Nuggets, no way they get past real professionals like the Spurs.
* That's right, last night's random anomaly of a game doesn't even count as a game in these playoffs...
