i just wish the design team read a comic before they made dials. some afr spot on while others are just off. thank god the monster stuff is good!
plus we have seen most of this set. like most ppl think, the monster stuff plays great. i can't seem to get over the fact that the 4 spider-men are lame ducks!!

This thread needs to be retitled to "Spider-man: The Good, The Bad.... and the biased."
Just because you don't like the character selection doesn't make it a bad set. Yeah, you technically tried to explain this in the first post, but... it's a little more than opinion being voiced here. If you were really just saying you don't like the character selection you would have titled the thread differently.
So sure, Spider-Man is a "bad" set - by your standards.
I'm a big Spidey fan, and I've been wanting a decent Dracula since 2002.
This set will ultimately live or die on Spider-Man #24, but at the same time this set has 3 (perhaps 4) out of my top 5 Marvel characters in it.
Spidey
Dr. Strange
Dracula
And potentially a Green Goblin prime (heh makes sense with the green ring).
I would have liked more Spidey (another Doc Ock, hell Chance, the original Tarantula, and Styx & Stone would be nice) and could always use more Marvel mystics and monsters (love the Dr. Strange characters with Ancient One, Wong, and Baron Mordo), but this is a great set list.
The dials for the Spidey people on the other hand . . . like I said, this set ultimately lives or dies with Uncommon Spidey.
I think there are enough awesome dials for the Horror properties and Spidey foes to keep the set "alive", but I totally agree that the Uncommon Spidey dial will have a big impact. I've been waiting for a major Horror theme in a Heroclix set for years, so I'm juiced about the set already, but I've also been waiting for an awesome Spider-Man representation for years. If we don't get one in a set with his name in the title (for the SECOND TIME), I'm going to be kind of ticked.
And I would be juiced for the "original" Tarantula (assuming you mean Anton Miguel Rodriguez). He was in the first Spider-Man comic I ever read (Amazing Spider-Man 134), and I have a lot of nostalgia for the character.
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash
If you haven't seen it then you haven't been looking very hard. I seem to be the target for complaints on the monsters. A lot of others have posted and are afraid to post because of the backlash. I know because I have talked to them about it privately.
Is that because we monster fans are...scary?
Seriously, that's just weird; "afraid to post because of the backlash"? Really? A lot of people?

Personally dials are secondary. Even when they are shown all that matters to me is if they seem like the character. Which is why spiderman got a lower mark on his 001. =)
Have to agree with this completely. Dial potency is secondary to me being able to play out a comic accurate team (or even a dream team). Now that I can have a massive zombie army fighting against soldiers, police, or even seeing if the Avengers can deal with them all makes collecting this game worthwhile.
Apart from that, I just wanted an updated, fun Sinister Six, then I can be happy. They could be horrible and I wouldn't care, because they always lose anyway.
Wolverine and the X-Men looks to be personally designed to for me, minus one glaring absence: Quentin Quire. Nevermind! All is well!
I always like threads like these, in which each person playing the game unapologetically rates their current interest level, piece by piece. I've even started a few of those threads in the past.
Manchine, I hope you won't mind, but instead of your [+, -, =] system, I'm going to use a 4-category system, similar to one I've used in the past. Regardless of the system used, I still think it is in the spirit of your OP, sharing your personal level of excitement.
It may be worth noting, most of my listings are rated based on interest in the characters rather than the dials, but there are a few exceptions (Dagger!).
Absolutely MUST HAVE - The highest level of interest, excitement that overwhelms any ability to be cool or casual.
- Daimon Hellstrom 009
- The Living Mummy 011
- Vampire (generic) 012
- Hannibal King 013b
- Dracula 016
- Dr. Voodoo 017a
- Brother Voodoo 017b
- Electro 021 (because of that dial, gotta try that sometime)
- Manphibian 025
- Mysterio 026
- Blackheart 040
- Colleen Wing & Misty Night 044
- Man-Thing & Howard the Duck 047
Great Piece. I want it. - Positive interest, but more casual than the level above, but still actively looking to get these.
- Spider-Man 001 (A, B, & C)
- Dagger 003
- Blade 004
- Zuvembie (generic) 006
- Frankenstein's Monster 010
- Werewolf (generic) 014
- Werewolf by Night 015
- Vulture 019
- Rhino 020
- Wong 023
- Lizard 030 (hopefully some kind of Shred-related powers here)
- Moon Knight 032
- Man-Thing 033
- Jennifer Kale 035
- Ancient One 037
- Carrion 038
- Hobgoblin & Goblin? (041 a & b)
- Nightmare 042
- Baron Mordo 043
- Terrax 045
- Madame Web 048
- Iron Spider 056
Good Enough. - Nothing really wrong with this piece. It just doesn't really inspire me to actively seek it out. I wouldn't mind getting it, but it won't be the end of the world if I miss out.
- Shocker 002
- Dr. Strange 005 (dial or sculpt may increase my interest)
- Johnny Blaze 007
- Frank Drake 013a
- Cloak 022
- Spider-Man 024 (hard to generate much interest for a character I have 12+ versions of without seeing the dial)
- Morbius 028
- Demogoblin 029
- Kraven the Hunter 031a
- Alyosha Kraven 031b
- Satanna Hellstrom 034
- Ghost Rider 046
- Hornet 050
- Ricochet 051
- Dusk 052
- Prodigy 053
- Spider-Man 057 ??
Ugh - I don't like it. This is a piece I truly don't care about, something for which I'd only trade as a favor to the other guy and even then offering up only dupes or other clunkers.
- Dr. Druid 008 (never really got into this character)
- Scarlet Spider 018
- Spider-Girl 027
- Kaine 036
- Spider-Man 039
- Spider-Man 2099 049
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
I am pretty happy with this entire set and LOVE the Monster sub theme goin on.
However, if that last Spidey dial isn't even remotely close to what I (and many others) have been clamouring for, it will taint the set.
"Tis better to push and take one damage, than to pass and get wiped off the map."
are u sure those are the chases? I was thinking they would all be spiderman like the batman set.
If there was only 5 I would agree with you but since there is more I would have to say no.
