Ran a fun clix game last night using the Star Trek clix. I customized 5 ships (3 borg cubes, a TNG Shuttle, and a TIE Bomber). One cueb was on IH Hercules, one was on DC10 U Brainiac, and the third was on Worldbreaker. The TIE Bomber was on R jack-O-Lantern from Sinister, and the shuttle was on R Chameleon from Unleashed. The three cubes had backup from various other Trek ships they'd "assimilated". Basically I picked one from each faction, plus the TIe, and two extra Romulan small sips to round out points. The other force was a Federation mix of one of each model of ship type, plus the shuttle and the various other faction ships that were "controlled by Federation" at the time. You know, like the Robinson, The Bounty, and that Vulcan one. It all took place on the Borg transportation warp hub thingy map. It was a lot of fun even though the Borg just couldn't hold up to my new Skrull Dice and my buddy's Flying Spaghetti Monster dice. We were rolling like champs. Plus, the Bog guy didn't really unleash Worldbreaker or brainiac on us. He kept them in reserve for the msot part. That hurt his damage output so we had more time to pick him off. It was a lot of fun. I am working on a slightly different scenario for next time.
I can imagine. Couldn't decide what else to play with it though.
One person did Commisoner Gordon with the Utility Belt and a bunch of cop LE figures and generic cops. IE Sgt Stone etc. Another person did a Gotham City theme with Caped Crusader, Alfred, TK Bruce Wayne, and a couple other figures. Poison Ivy won it for me though with her Mind Control and Poison.
Yeah, but at least Dark Knight and Watchmen were contemporary. Harry Potter predated Twilight by almost a decade.
Well, contemporary doesn't exactly exclude things. Remember when Marvel rushed out the horrendous Identity Disc mini the same time DC was running Identity Crisis?
Still, ridiculous arguments on the internet never surprise me.

Whoa, whoa whoa.
Identity Disc was a pretty solid villain team up story.

Thank you for adding to my list of comic storylines I need to read. Currently working through Brightest day.
I don't often do the self-promotion thing, but today is the 10th anniversary of the death of Mr. Rogers, and I wrote a little something about it. I didn't appreciate the man nearly enough when he was alive, and I feel like I have to make it up to him in some way.
And here I thought Identity Crisis was terrible, Identity Disc was fun, and anyone confusing them stupid.
I liked Identity Crisis. Then again, I grabbed it without having all the baggage attached, as it was the first DC anything I'd paid money for to that point.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?

That'is probably why I loved Identity Crisis. Great art, cool storyline, and I didn't know any of the side-characters. Plus, I'm a fan of Meltzer.
Identity Disc... I don't even remember reading it (even though I know I have the run)... I consider most non-memorable storylines crap.
Of course, I also still have *some* fond memories of the beginning of the Clone Saga.

Prioritize better, Brightest Day is the worst one in that bunch.
Seconded.
You start with the meh story that was Blackest Night, take a plot that would fill a 6 issue mini, pad it with splash pages and retredded plot points from the 90s until it takes up 24 issues, chisle in a few major plot holes and when you're done, you have a book that is so bad it is only worth reading because it is a crossover and therefore a footnote in DC continuity. Only, DC immediately rebooted the entire universe so Brightest Day doesn't even have that going for it anymore.

I think it still happened though. The Green Lantern titles didn't really get rebooted.
