My schedule can be unreliable due to my job, and rockclimbing lifestyle.
But I will like to keep trackonthis thread.
I will sugguest that one of you to type down a post which cover the "rules, and expectations of this thread to cover everything what you guys had discuss so far before you guys starts.
Thanks, Steve
P.S. Do you have a Heroclix (plastic crack) dependency?

I've done it, but I'll grant you it's a tough row to hoe. You spend a significant part of your build total on 1 fig, and therefore have to be VERY careful.

I also think once this is done and we break up into separate threads for games we quote the rules and a brief description of what the plan is and maybe a link to this thread in the first post. That away anyone who just checks in on the forum game will know whats going on at a glance and might decide to get involved in future rounds.

Yeah. All the games will have to be in the Play By Post Forum, and putting a brief synopsis of what's going on, and a link to this thread, at the beginning is a terrific idea.
BTW all, I've started a thread to recruit more players for Team FL over in the General Discussion Forum. Any support you guys feel would be appropriate will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I am not going to join this experiment guys, but I have one suggestion for you to consider.
I have not noticed if you gentlemen plan on using any 3D objects? The use of these could be a potential variable for consideration. For example, if someone were to use a Vet. Doc Samson with a soda machine, they could deal more damage on an attack then normally permitted. There is also the repeat use of the 3D dumpster to consider as well. I was just curious to know if you folks are going to be using the 3D objects.
I would love to join in the fun, but I work a full time job and am starting my summer semester of college, so I do not have the time to devote to this experiment. I wish all of you the best of luck in trying to solve the Fire lord conundrum!
What's refreshing is the number of people who have said "I think Firelord is fine the way he is, but I'll participate anyway..." Firelord threads seem to get bogged down by a select few (myself included) who feel VERY strongly one way or the other. People who have an opinion but don't care to get caught in the crossfire tend to stay out. That's something that Wizkids may want to take note of for the future.

hmm - I was actually hoping we WOULDN'T have to do that - is that a new rule of proper forum usage - that all forum games go in there? The thing is, they delete those threads after just a few days - it'll make it harder to reference as a source of data. I kind of thought we'd put the games in the strategy section, so they'd stay up, and anyone who wanted to verify whether a particular game was a valid source of data could go factcheck on their own.
Thing is - the whole idea here is to make all the information public. That's one of the reasons so many of these Firelord arguments go back and forth - there's no real public information that you can go and check out for yourself. So, every argument that tries to assert, "here's how I beat Firelord...." or "that won't work because of....." just doesn't convince anyone. It's too easy for either side to dismiss the "evidence" for any number of reasons.
Evidence which relies on information that isn't public is very shaky evidence indeed.
Any other thoughts on this?
I hope I'm not being a pest - seems like I'm the one bringing up the most problems, even tho I'm one of the biggest advocates for DOING this in the first place. I just want to maximize the chances of our experiment being accepted as valid.

I have no opinion on this, but....
totally off-topic: talking about the 3D objects - if you think Firelord's "broken" (uh-oh, there's that word again - I'm probably opening a can of worms here :-) has anyone played with OWAW Supes and a dumpster? HSS, Super-strength, and an unbreakable object - oh my! Very nasty indeed - run in picking up dumpster along way, smack someone for 5 damage, drop dumpster, pick it back up as you run away :-)
Of course, he IS a lot of points, so I don't literally mean that it's broken :-)

Actually, Scotty, I don't think the posts are deleted. The default is just 2 days. I just went there and used "Show Threads" search at the bottom, and clicks "the beginning." Looks to me like every post since the beginning is still available. I could be wrong, of course, but that's what it looks like.
If we're worried about threads being deleted we can have players copy the posts to a text file after the completion of the game and eventually move it to an html file to post somewhere. That would let us strip out commentary if we decide to make the final visible form as streamlined as possible.
I don't think the copy and paste would be too much extra work.
CC, I hope you're right - but the forum description says:
"We will delete threads more then 2 days old on a regular basis."
I'd be really bummed if we did all this, only to have all the threads deleted, and then just be back where we started from, cuz no one will give any credence to the data if they can't verify it for themselves - after all, as we know, these forums are full of skeptics :-)
Perhaps we could ask the mods if they could make an exception for this case? Mods? Any of you reading this thread?
oooh, oooh - you know what would be REALLY cool - if they'd set up a whole new forum for this! That'll never happen, tho :-)
