As to the question of him vs ventry, I'd have to go with ventry. Admittedly I've found his biggest weakness to be hss. He has charge and a six range not a good combo for hitting the likes of ventry, icons superman or cosmic spider-man. He's best at close combat fighters, using that awesome defensive power then showing them how it's done. If they won't come to you tk helps(a lot).
One question about his special. I know he can combo this special with his charge but on just one dial he has flurry instead of charge. Can i combo flurry with his special even though its a double power action?
Because one person said i could, but after reading the rules of flurry i dont think i can combo it with the special.
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.

Flurry is a close combat action which activates two close combat attacks. Thors special is a double power action which activates one combat attack. At first glance it really doesn't look like you can Combo these two.
But if you could, you would only need to roll for damage once as its locked from the first attack.
This figure isn't all that impressive when its fighting low point grunts. I was playing The Maggia crime syndicate and wrecked this guy with a 35 point jigsaw (after activating scar tokens) and several masque and madame masque figures. The opponent even had the close combat edge as he based my team with this Thor, Sif, tyr and valkarie. By all means he should've wiped the floor with my maggia team but he didn't even hurt a goon. A sharpshooting Malekith eventually killed the Thor but my maggia decimated the rest. It was a combination of bad rolls and set up (as we were being attacked by two other players) but his trait just doesn't help him against lower point targets. I think someone mentioned that this Thor would be chewed up by tiny soldiers....

He cannot use his special power with Charge. That's because the special power requires a double power action, and charge allows one close combat action, not a double action.
Nearly took this guy out with LE Ravager and Arkham Deathstroke.. nearly.. Deathstroke missed every attack against him.. Ravage hit him repeatedly, but he imperved most of the 30 blades damage I dealt him.. had my dice not been ice cold, he would of gone down..

That's Dr. Smart-@$$, thank you, I didn't spend eight years in insult college to be called Mister.
I think there could be a fairly compelling case made for this Thor in a fight against another high point figure, such as the Ventry. Thor has an effectively 17 range swing. Keep in mind that his Odinsword power can be used once as a free action and that it can be used at range.
Couple that with the 21 defense that he would have against a 300 pt character, and I think this figure stands a pretty good chance.

It can never be used as a free action, only as a power action instead of the double power action. Though using it as a ranged attack is a good way to trip up your opponent who is expecting a charge and instead gets blasted for 5-10 damage from range.
I *want* to like him, but the Odinsword power being (mostly) a dpa means you have to choose between attacking for 4-3 on 2 out of 3 turns or attacking for 5-10 damage one out of every 2 turns. That means the Odinsword is probably not worth the dpa on the 4-damage clicks unless fighting big reducers, but IS worth it on clicks 3-5, provided you have help landing the attack. Despite this calculation, a 275 point figure needs to deal more than 4 vanilla damage to be viable. Exploit is late-breaking and he's on his way to death at that point.
Odin's Armor and 9 clicks of un-Outwittable reducers are the real treasure here, meaning he's basically just got to watch out for penetrating damage and stick around for the long haul. I have to ask - why does a Thor have 2 damage on click 5? Is he just playing around? Has he drunken too much mead?
