For those saying that a week isn't enough time for QC, yes, you may be correct that it's not a lot of time. But, a week is enough time to crack open a few sets and inventory some things. Maybe not to make the changes that needed to be made, but certainly enough time to check and see if they needed to push the release date back again. So a week for QC no, but a week to check and see if they needed to do some more QC, yes. Sizing up the problem would have not been an issue in a weeks time.
So, why did they push it back a week then?
Here's the thing: I had a buddy get TWO broken chases in a case. That's not something that should happen. However, if it does, it should definitely be replaceable, no question.

If the theory of regional error areas holds any weight, or even if you take the rational approach and say, "not all batches had errors", it's entirely believable that the small sample NECA chose to open was without errors. They may not have known there was a problem until Wednesday, just like the rest of us.

They sell their boosters for 6-7$ to the brick and mortar stores.
At gencon, they get all of the $. They get all of the money. Not 60% or whatever... All.
I love the song conspiracy by the black crowes... But this is a bit much.

No one's going to argue against that T-Funk. Replacement program lacks.
This isn't the set that's worth going to the mat over QC for, that's certain.
... but in re: timeliness, I decided long ago to pretend whatever the "announced release" date was to factor in at least a month later. Helps stop me from being peeved over that at all. Boom, done.
See heres the thing, a conspiracy theory needs to do a few things to be even worth considering
1)Explain otherwise unexplainable facts
2) ....
It doesn't matter what else it ought to do, because number one is a non-starter. Wizkids pushing back a release date is not something that is out of the norm in any way whatsoever, wizkids holding to a release date would be far more anomalous. It's like coming up with a conspiracy theory about why businesspeople want money, that is not something that needs explaining.

when dealing with chinese manufacturing, the company having the work done needs to actually go to china occasionally and make sure the chinese are making, packing and shipping the product to the campanies standards.
so its a case of:
A-WK doesnt make sure that the chinese are making their product properly
or
B-this is WK standard.
i have been thinking lately that WK should have all the pieces made in china, then those pieces shipped here for final assembly so WK cna have a better handle on QC.

Haha, can you imagine Gen Con if they did release the set during that time. You'd find Norm and Muncho under a table.
I can see it that way, or Norm being Norm and finding a staunch defense with which he will use to defuse people. Arguing with norm is like trying to nail jello to a wall. Which is good, because he needs to stay in control, one sign of weakness and it is all over.
I am proposing that WK knew about the QC issues. I HAVE NO PROOF. This is just speculation.
Suppose you were WK, your excited about a new release, you have your biggest tournament of the year coming up, and everyone is excited. Then out of the blue you catch word that some things are not quite right with the expansion that is ready to be shipped.
Surely you cannot allow this blunder to be seen at your big event... what are you to do, I mean I suppose you could always just push the release date back.
This is speculation, however, why else would they push the set back if some places were able to get it on time? If I knew something was wrong I wouldn't want to showcase a giant blunder at my big party.
Just a thought... but still these are the questions.
