Love the decision to review certain game elements. Those still complaining/expressing negative thoughts are entitled to their opinions, but the worst thing that I can see coming from this is that things stay the same. Any moves made to balance pieces will only make things better.
Ehn, I may be a minority, I'm not too thrilled about changes after the fact. People paid their money for pieces that do a certain thing, and now they're *potentially* going to go back and change some of those pieces? I wrinkle my nose at this prospect.
Okay, I can respect that opinion, even if I disagree.

This is where you lose me, as I'm tired of this word being misused. Subsequently, belittling those with actual complaints (whether you agree with them) takes my respect level down considerably.
What does the word "whining" mean to you?
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?
For the love of God, if I had three wishes, one of them would be "Please teach people how to correctly use the word 'whine.'"
Strictly from a linguistic perspective, the damn word should be added to the swear filter. Users can get it back once they've proven that they can use it correctly.

Much crow should be eaten in this thread - by various venom spitting, future crow eaters.

why exactly should crow be eaten? Aren't they admitting to the problems that so many people have been complaining about? If anything people should feel vindicated shouldn't they?
As for the announcement, its about time. I think its awesome that they are going to finally look at some of these overpowered mechanics, however I do not think it excuses the lack of play testing and poor game design that have provided us with so much brokenness. Hopefully the next year will be about moving Heroclix back to the awesome game that it was, and less about pushing out as much product as they possibly can.
Who's eating crow here? The "stop your whining cause nothing will come of it crowd?"
Is that what's going on here?
Crows to be eaten recently:
- 1/2 Crow for the "Spiral will dominate 300 point meta" crowd. Myself included. She didn't, at least not at the top level. H4H, Shatterstar, TBs did. Spiral still can ruin local metagames, so it's only half-a-crow.
- 1 Crow for the "Team Bases/H4H/Spiral aren't broken, you just need to play moar bettur" crowd. Obviously the designers agree that these elements require review.
- 1 Crow for the "WK just wants your money!" crowd. Between the expanded Replacement program and this new initiative, they're proving it's not just a cash grab -- they care about long-term viability.
- 1 Crow for the "complain all you want, nobody is ever going to do anything!" crowd. They just did.
- Possibly 1 future Crow to be eaten by myself, if this Watch List ends up being a Paper Tiger.

I used to play Magic, and it was always an unctuous affair to have to deal with "ban lists", and HC already has a bunch of errata. I'm not sure I like that the whiners are winning, either. In any case, I'm interested to see where this goes. I may not like changes, but I'm also a little tired of seeing TB's show up at my local venue all the time.
I'm going to play this game no matter what, so the thought that Wizkids would pander to the people who up and quit because of a few over-powered pieces is not what I would want from this company, just more QC moving forward.
And fail to the nth degree, simply because of the bolded. Try again.
Good grief, I may not have agreed with Hess and Thrumble and Rorschach on everything, but I never once called them whiners and tried to be as civil as I could when discussing these issues (when I wasn't being Hungry SuperGrunt....). They're not whining. And saying that they're "winning" because they're "whining" is asinine.
So, try again with a little more civility.
TH0MAS5: The voice of reason speaks the truth. You are not just "Grunt" , you are "Super Grunt".

I just wonder what it was that FINALLY made WK pull its head out of the sand and say "we really 'effed this game up over the last 18 months".
I'm curious to see what comes out of this but I'm not overly optimistic. They had their chance to fix some of this in the last players guide but didn't take the opportunity, why is now different? They've also released some very questionable elements since game balance took a nose dive (I'm looking at you HfH)...and still opted to release them anyway. So I'm hoping some good comes out of this but not gonna hold my breath.
Amusingly enough, I doubt it had anything to do with a "last straw" or any kind of final realization - they couldn't afford to release a "watch list" that didn't include Team Base rules and they wouldn't torpedo the first month of WatX sales by putting the super boosters (and Spiral) immediately on notice.
Personally, I don't believe GCPD ATA deserves a spot on that list (despite my love of the pilot ability and my Imperial Walker customs, Clear the Streets does need some revision).
The Prep-time power doesn't need review so much as the Stat Bonuses from the belt need to be toned back (as do the attack bumps from Book equipped Hammers).
There are other changes that I feel are needed, but until they fix the big problems, everything else is just background noise.
