I don’t know who the hell this guy is and the internet wasn’t a huge help. I’m not even 100% sure I got the right pic for him.
Man... Thunderbolts sure did have a lot of forgettable characters.
I bet this guy was part of Hawkeye's wack team when the rest of the Thunderbolts were on Counter Earth. He was probably in like 3 comic panels.
That was also when Songbird was falling into bad habits like smoking and drinking and got a bellybutton ring. They debuted her like "this is the new Songbird" and then forgot. Thunderbolts was so weird and disjointed.

Haha it's so weird reading classic Thunderbolts. I came on at the start of Ellis' run, and Songbird was pretty consistently the broody, out-for-redemption character. It's insane seeing how capricious her early incarnation was. It might not be fair to say, but I feel like Busiek struggled with what to do with Songbird and Nicieza leaned HARD into socioeconomic stereotypes of her backstory. Couple those choices with Thunderbolts' markedly plot-driven and breakneck storytelling... characters can change SO fast....
I didn’t know anything about Daken before reading Dark Avengers, and after reading it… I still don’t. Bendis isn’t wild about characterizing more than his favorite 2-3 characters per series.
For this dial, I read reactions to existing Daken dials and tried to make something that captured his pheromone abilities as well as his Wolverine-like qualities.

Like Father, Like Son: Improved Movement: Ignores Hindering. Pheromone Control: Mind Control, but only against adjacent opponents.
If we had an update Daken like this and a venom with Dark Avengers Keyword, I would be very content. This guy needs flavor text referencing him cutting punisher to bits and kicking the pieces of a roof!
Following this thread is exciting and depressing at the same time.
Winning the game means little if it is not with the characters that I would want to win!

That's a pretty big set list so I'm not sure it would fit Wizkids model.
Some def. new characters & characters that need remakes. Also enough that don't but better than what we've been getting lately.
Probably not enough sculpt reuse or multiple versions of the same characters for Wizkids to do it which is just the sad state of game design we're in right now.

Helluva compliment, Dasaul29! My thanks!
Damn, I did NOT know Daken did that to Punisher. Explains the hell out of Frankencastle, that’s for sure.

You’re not wrong, gambitrmp! I doubt a set like this would ever be made for its size, but I figured if I was going to do a Thunderbolts set, I might as well go all-in. Same deal for the recent Marvel-set design paradigm, where most things seem to be based off specific era, arcs, or events. But hey, that’s the glory of hypothetical sets like this!
As for sculpt reuse… hmmm… I bet we could get away with more than one would expect!
Mach X & Harrier
Blizzard & Bullseye
Guard & Cobalt Man
Hawkeye & Trickshot
Smuggler & Vantage
Skein & Elektra
Axum & Luke Cage
Anachronism & Skaar
Daken & Gorgon
Crossbones & Paladin
Ai Apaec & Venom
Moonstone & Superia
Scourge & Grizzly
Super-Adaptoid & Norman Osborn
…at least, those seem like the most natural fits for me!
I dig that Axum! Honestly I'd give him the Thunderbolts keyword even though he was never part of the team, he still was the headliner of his own Thunderbolts comic in the same way the Red Hulk Bolts are in name alone Thunderbolts, plus he was included on the anniversary cover!

It was a story in Dark Reign: The List. That series was about the hitlist that Osborn had when he came into power that included punisher, spider-man, daredevil, etc. I haven't read about frankencastle, but I have heard that daken is what led to him.

Huge thanks! I’d hoped to make something lumbering and heavy-hitting!
I definitely see your point about the keyword and about Red Hulk’s T-Bolts. How about a compromise? I’ll add a trait that makes Axum more attractive for Thunderbolt-themed teams! Think it’ll fit nicely C;
Hopefully the next Thunderbolts run reprises Axum in a Luke Cage-like role on the team!
I don't know too much about Gorgon, but he seems cool.

Stone Gaze: At the beginning of your turn, roll a d6. 4-6, deal each adjacent opposing character an action token. Teleportation Device: Once per game, Phasing/Teleport as FREE. Godkiller Sword: Blades/Claws/Fangs & Exploit Weakness. If a hit target has the Deity or Cosmic keywords, +1 Damage.

Great compromise on him. Even though he's not true Thunderbolts, he at least was trying to change and probably would fit in with the real team.
He actually fits the theme more than most of the post-Civil War characters. I would say Ghost and maybe Juggernaut are the only modern guys who really switched sides during their time with the team (and Juggernaut has been switching back and forth for decades anyway)

Big thanks! In retrospect, it IS strange that Axum wasn't leading Parker's Thunderbolts, but I'd imagine Cage had the name recognition, a fitting backstory, and didn't hail from a failed experiment that necessitated a wholesale reboot.
Hmmm... Didn't Songbird eventually become an Avenger? Feels like Moonstone is always toeing the line too...

I think she was made honorary Avengers back in the day. I can barely remember it, but I feel like she even rejected it like "Nuh-uh. Thunderbolts are my family for life, bro."
But nowadays anyone popular is an Avenger on some spin-off team, so I wouldn't be surprised if Songbird was on "Avengers European Super Spy Unit" or "Avengers Search and Rescue Brigade" or some nonsense.
Ok, so here’s my first cheat for this set. If you check the wiki, you’ll see that the Cobalt Man who joined the T-bolts… wasn’t. But hey, I clixed that character twice in my Unclixed MCU set. Given the choice between clixing a character who’s been done to death vs. putting my personal stamp on an obscure character, I’ll always pick the latter.
Just imagine a whole force of these A-holes…

Cobalt Reactor Breach: Whenever Cobalt Man takes damage, roll a d6. 1-3 nothing happens. 4-5, Cobalt Man uses Pulse Wave as FREE and takes 1 unavoidable damage. 6, Cobalt Man uses Pulse Wave as FREE.
you probably should add "Redeemers" keywords to Skein and Harrier/Cardinal. At one point Steve Rogers lead a lineup of "pseudo-tbolts" for a very brief run... including also a lady who wore the heavy armor Beetle suit
"A" is "A". And no matter what universe he's from, Luthor... is Luthor.

Oh yeah. I forgot Beetle-lady. Wasn't there also a point where they hired 3 college kids to wear the old Beetle armors and never explained anything about them?
