im thinking its primary damage is 1 close combat and when you push it gets higher so to charge would mean for you to shut down to get high enough damage
This machine somewhat reminds me of a Gear from the Heavy Gear game; all those machines are driven by an ICE as well and are decent military designs. Just like this little puppy. Now this Raider MK II may be a design which could be produced in large numbers within a few years... Are the Spirit Cats' Raiders captured machines or machines that are produced by the Cats in factories they took from Bannson?
And since a 'Mech is a much more complicated machine for an engine, be it fusion, be it ICE, to power, it's pretty logical for an ICE-driven 'Mech to run hot. It's myomers have a tendency of heating up under stress as well, partly because they pick up heat from the engine, partly from the stretching during movement.
If Myomer muscles on the mech are suppose to simulate muscles in humans, it goes to reason the ICE mech will heat up. Pushing them harder, the hotter they get.
I think it looks nice and aggressive.
I'm thinking that it'll have ballistic single use SE's - AP probably, an a repair marker when it goes to 0 ballistic damage, and probably the damage is 2,2,0 for ballistic. I don't see these things having particularly long lives either.

However, I don't like the fact that it has such a high attack when there are lots of real Battlemechs that only have and attack value of 8. Granted this does have a military grade targeting system but so do those mechs.
By that logic, wizkids shouldn't have acted to fix a known problem. "Poorly designed Mechs in the past had low attack values and therefore sucked, but future mechs should also have low attack values!"
I honest don't understand how you can possibly be *complaining* about this...*shakes head*
They saw a design flaw...and it looks like they are fixing it. Thank goodness.
Let's first see all the stats before the wailing and gnashing of teeth begins. It looks rather nice with its semi-modular looking autocannon and its improved armor. But we still don't know everything that thing does. I once saw Arnis Drummond destroyed by the illustrious MiningMech Mk.II MOD in close combat during a battle royale, so who knows what wondrous things this Ranger Mk.II IBM might do in free games.
Looks cool. Too bad the :^: unit isn't a DF mech. I could replace this old beat up ForestryMech MOD as my ride. Right now the only other non-unique green DF mech is a Spider.
And is it me, or does the gun pod look like a leafblower? Heh. Except the leaves are infantry. Combine it with the sawblades, and we have the official HedgeTrimmer
Mech.
AAARRRGGGHHH !!! Wizkids added an ICE to CS !! AAARRGGHHH!!!
Well, at least the scuplt is good and isn't as ugly as the dumptruck mech. But what bothers me is the stats ; 11 attack, 9 speed w/ evade? Does Wizkids want us to play chargemonkey? Why bother adding in the AC when I can charge out of hyperspace and deal a max of 5 damage? Even Caden Senn has too be careful now since 11 attack can crack his high defence.
I REALLY REALLY HOPE THAT THERE ISN'T ANY YELLOW MECHS IN THIS SET . In Liao , the Dumptruck mech was bad enough, but a Foresty mech with a wrecking ball? How adsurb is that?
I wonder what attack the REAL Battlemech will have. IF they have correct the design flaw which is low attack values, will the battlemech have a high attack values like in DA?
Wow... tons of complaints about this - and I think it's the best ICE yet...
Well, I BELIEVE that there will apparently be at least ONE PAIR (1 Industrial, 1 Industrial-MOD) of ICE Mech units not including this one:
ForestryMech MK II
ForestryMech MK II MOD
and personally, since the ForestryMech MOD - the veteran in particular - is my favorite of all of the industrialmechs and MODs, I think that it's fair to say that these MK IIs of the ForestryMech will be pretty cool :)
I like the flavour suggestion -- that new development in 'tech is of the "Fast, Cheap, and Out of Control" variety, rather than being "latest and greatest Assault 'Mech" stuff we saw in 3055+. I'm a bit dismayed at the insane attack value, but I'm still happy that they're actually trying to make this "Dark Age" stuff in some way supported by unit design.
I mean, if fusion is LosTech during the HPG blackout (with the exception of some Clan worlds, and Irian) then innovation in lowtech (much nicer than calling them ICEs) is the most logical step.
Still, it looks pretty lame that the dude is holding the gun like a hedge trimmer.
Bad news: It's an ICE
Good news: It's an ICE with attitude
The BR version (not surprisingly) looks very good for its size, and the scupt itself rocks. Customizers (especially those of you lucky/rich enough to have an extra Madcat and Warhammer they don't need) will want to look at my quick MS Paint mods:
