1. Flat, boring, worthless, standardized terrain! This is huge.
2. Emphasis on close combat (if I want that, I'll play a fantasy game thank you so freakin' much)
3. No merc formations.
1) People like Marik who steal my stuff through a trade and don't even respond to my PMs. If you rip me off there is nothing I can do about it, but at least don't pretend that you aren't on the boards; I can check your profile and see that you are on all the time.
2) People who are dogmatic about faction purity. This isn't directed at anyone specifically who made comments about faction purity. I see it as the classic religious dilemma; If faction purity is the *religion* that you choose, that's fine, but don't preach to me. I enjoy playing faction pure in scenarios whose rules dictate faction purity, but I don't enjoy being patronized for not playing faction pure because someone else decided that they would.
3) People who criticize everyone who plays a good piece for playing cheese. For example, I have a SSw A4 that I have never played in a tourny, because I think it is too powerful a piece to be available in a booster. But if I won (read: earned) a Kenneth Medchelke in a tourney, I have every right to use him.
When Kenny first arrived on the scene, he was the ONLY artillery
piece that delivered two 2-damage pogs. I don't think anyone
really believes he's cheesy, anymore. ;)
Originally posted by darkarchon0 for the first I agree. But what about the player that REALY COULD HAVE WON, if he had one more turn to resolve the artillery shell, get another Ranged combat order in, or a last ditch charge or capture that woukld have destroyed the Maxim with the Schmitt inside, or the Mad Cat II, or god know what other possibilities. Frankly if the game was that close where one more order would haVE MADE A DIFFERENCE, I think that your opponent has the right to delcare his near victory, and then congratulate you on a VERY well played game.
If hew does not congratulateyou then you can tell him to kiss a fat baby's ###
That was sort of my point...players who instead of just accepting loss, extending a hand and saying "good game" or even "close game" will exclaim otherwise.
Now if one says that to a player who stalls that's another story...but I never stall, in fact if anything my haste to not stall sometimes produces tactical errors. :ermm:
I usually just sweep my peeves under a rug, heck all players (people) are different not to mention there's often a considerable age difference between myself and who I play.

guys who are late and win because their by round counts as a win and everyone else has one or two losses(that were extremely competitive)
Venues I play at usually give a tardy player a by with a loss. If you are on time and are assigned a by then it's a win of the lowest possible quality for the round. That seems fair to me.
B. Bad players who doesn't power game, aka "whino"
C. Players who don't own at least 5 SS Arrow IV
D. Blah, blah blah rules complainer
E. Mwrealms no lifer - get a life, and win LE's
Dude, I hope that's sarcasm. :ermm:
I can't quite understand your post in the first place, but...I don't even have a single Rick Raisho and I only have 2 SS A4s...are you calling me "dumb"?
So let's see if everything on my personal check-list has been hit...
[ x ] Mr. Suitcase
[ x ] Stallers
[ x ] Lame Army Phenotypes (WarPog, Tank Drop, etc.)
[ x ] Silly Rules
[ x ] Cheaters
Which only leaves a couple of big ones for me :
1) Children and Parents. It is my opinion that children and their parents should not play against each other in a tournament. This is because (in my experience) they will either a) collude so that one of them scores a huge victory, rocking the VC count to jump one of them up in the ratings (very rare) or b) fight so much that they disrupt the rest fo the players around them with their screaming and yelling and carrying on (much more common).
2) Champion and Fellowship. The person that wins the tournament gets the Champion prize. Period. The person thatw ins the Fellowship gets the Fellowship prize. Period. I am so tired of winning the fellowship, only to be handed a Liao piece of crud that I'm not going to use, and being told by everyone that I try to trade it to for the Highlander fellowship prize that they already have four of them at home. The winner of the tourney should not get to pick which of the two prizes they want to have. You take the prize you won and try to trade like everyone else to get what you want.
3) The FAQ. You know, I think I would settled for one less Highlander Unique or LE (seeing as they're mostly useless anyway) if we could get a new printing of the Rulebook that included every change made in the FAQ, and an updated SEC, without needing to send a check for twelve bucks and wait ten to twelve weeks. One document, completely contained in an easy to handle and transport package, would be awful nice.
4) No More Errata'd Pieces. That one speaks for itself, I think. I'm stupidly tired of getting a piece, only to have the FAQ come out two weeks later with a bunch of changes that turn the piece from having one purpose to completely another.

-Q
Not to worry Q, he got warned for it. Rightfully so, I might add. ;)
In no particular order, I hate 'em all about the same:
-Cheaters who never give full damage, and when they do and they click back up to prove it, they click down less damage that they took... (5 clicks up, 4 back down)
-Prize Hunters
-Prize Hunters who play the SAME FREAKIN UNBEATABLE ARMY EVERY SINGLE GAME (Especially if it's a ton LE pieces they're showing off at the same time)
-Artillery. All of it should be done away with to reintroduce strategy into the game.
my #1 pet peeve is people who think when u take lik 2-3 mins its 10 and whine about it to the battlemaster about it and the BM say he has onlt been like 2 mins give him time and they keep whining

Merciless newbie-killing is one thing ...
Bailing out of a tourney to hop to another tourney midway after you receive two wins and the prize? That should NOT be allowed.
And under the new rules it isn't. The tournament has to be 3 rounds. If you have to leave, then you're withdrawing from the tournament and lose. Even if you were 'mathematically' ahead.
If I were the BM I might even collaborate with a couple of the regulars to be a little slow about setting up for the third round. Or all the rounds. Make sure he's going to be nice and late to the next venue.
I have a new MW peeve. Or two to be correct, althoug they are usually combined into one. Sore losers and money throwers. I have about only one real money thrower in our group but it is very annoying to even have one. Especially when he is also a sore loser. Whenever he sees a piece he wants or see's someone use a piece to great affect he buys it off the battlemaster, even if he doesn't use it. I 'll an example of the guy. Today I was talking to one of my friends on the phone when he told me the that the money thrower/sore loser, was going to buy Arnis Drummond and start trying to play SC,just to get back at me for beating him with Arnis. He always gets angry at me or just in general to the point of screaming at me or other players in our group(that go to school,at the venue he acts like an angel)so I can't defend my arguement. Whenever he misses or his favorite piece gets damaged he'll get real angry,to the point of slamming his dice on the table or refusing to click it or tell me the stats. Then after I'm done playing him and I play someone else,he'll come into the room and constantly talk to the other player or hum songs loudly, just to get back. Whenever we ask him just to stop he tells us to either shut up or does it louder. He'll try to confuse rules in his favor, even when he knows the correct rules. He'll always ask if he can be 2 or more points over even when he can build a correct army. He also tells me everyone at the venue hates me and thinks I shouldn't play. I'm sorry if this sounds really hostile coming from me(directed at the player),but right now I'm really frustrated at this player.
