Why, exactly, do the Jade Falcons get Stingers, Panthers, and Spiders? The JFs wouldn't be caught dead in some Inner Sphere piece of junk. Maybe they're for solahma units?
(yes, yes, I know, fluff goes out the window with this game... still, it's going to irk me every time I see one of them fielded.)

Well, the MWDA Spider does look totally different from the CBT one... It's a shame they didn't name it a Spider IIC way back in the first set, which would make it reasonable, fiction-wise, for all factions.
Actually during the Clan Invasion the CJF assault actually captured a major spider factory that was located in the federated commonwealth. They now have access to there own innersphere source of Spiders and the ability to retrofit the factory.
As for the Panthers, I beleive the FC did have a few panther factories but these were decommissioned with Draconis combine being one of the few with active gong factories. Though it's not uncommon to beleive that the Jade Falcon's stumbled upon one of these factories on there captured worlds.
They didn't just give these worlds back, they still own a good chunck of the IS.

How do the Jade Falcons end up with Inner Sphere 'Mechs? The same way the Inner Sphere has gotten Clan 'Mechs: Salvage (and perhaps a bit of trading with Clan Sea Fox).
Why would they lower themselves to use Inner Sphere equipment? Logistics. Oddly enough, new equipment doesn't magically transport itself across many light years right to where it is needed most. It needs to be ordered, built, tested and shipped to the necessary place. Even if you assume pre-ordered, pre-built and pre-tested equipment, they still have to get to the front lines... when you consider that travel between planets takes quite a bit of time (as in, shipping from the Clan homeworlds, where the ClanTech is produced, takes weeks, if not months), then field commanders may decide that it is far better to "lower" oneself to using Inner Sphere tech that has been salvaged from the battlefield, and can thus be used in a few days, instead of fielding fewer 'Mech for a few weeks while waiting for new ones to show up. (The decision is made a lot easier for the commander, of course, if they can make an underling take the Inner Sphere 'Mech instead of having to do so themselves, granted ;) ).
For those that will inevitably argue that the Clans now have factories in the Inner Sphere - sure, but they don't have them on every world, and travel between planets in the same Prefecture of the Republic still takes many days (okay, technically, travel between systems doesn't take any time... but the travel to the jump points has been well established to take several days).
The coloration on Highlander mechs goes as follows:
Green-Mostly brown w/some green
Veteran-Half and Half/or close to as possible
Elite-Mostly green w/some brown
There are some exceptions, but this is generally the rule. This works for other factions too. Jade Falcons are the first to have a "color coded" ranking system.
Is there a problem with the links to the pictures at the beginning of this thread? I used to be able to see them, but now I get a permission denied error when I click on the links.
