Quick lesson kiddies! The more you whine, the angrier Daddy gets!! :p
AMEN!!!
Call it passive-aggressive if you want, but I never change my position on something if my kids whine about it, EVER (as a result they rarely whine). Now I seldom get angry, and if it turns out that I'm wrong, and in the course of a rational conversation I change my mind ... so be it. But if you lead out whining my decision is going to stand, on principle alone, and I'll be "going down with the ship" if necessary, just to teach you the lesson.
(P.S. I do try to consider things carefully in advance so that the need for reversals is minimized. :))

Yes, toddlers are far more rational than teenagers.
My sources within Wizkids indicate that the Pirates of the Spanish Main Staff have turned privateer and are raiding the other departments for office supplies.
In their first assault, they took all of the Mechwarrior group's LAN cables to secure their captives while they raided the desks.
Fortunately, the Heroclix group all managed to get to their respective closets and change into their superhero outfits in time to chase the pirates back to their cubicles.
Of course, my sources have been known to be wrong before....
Originally posted by Nanhold I like your style. In a webcomic I read I found the euphemism little chestburster used for an unborn child. Now that may not be the most appropriate thing to say when in the direct vicinity of a pregnant woman. Heh.

Actually, one bit of wisdom I know about disciplining kids (slightly off the comment, but close) is that you never threaten anything you won't go through with. Research has shown that kids will remember the one time you didn't go through with a punishment and not the other times when you did.
I don't know how many times I've seen parents in a store tell their child if they don't behave they'll leave with nothing. 9 times out of 10, they don't follow through.

This is right on target... follow through is critical, and the earlier in a child's life the parent figures this out (and starts to discipline themselves out of the "empty threat" habit), the less "trouble" the parent will have with the child later on..

Yes, I am quite upset about Its Walky! coming to an end Yesterday after 7 years.
