It is a Jumping Jackalope JKL-CM-L. The Totem mech of Clan Fuzzy Bunny! :)
There's no -CM variant....
Everyone should look closely at the colors (or colours) on that Anubis. As it's right next to a 'Mech that is clearly in Steiner colors it should be obvious that its main color is purple, not blue. Gunslinger.
The two RHD 'Mechs in the image are both brand new. Don't bother checking your TROs....
Interesting that the main announcement reads "Plus, a new mystery faction makes its debut!," yet the "Promotions Guide" page reads "The [Call to Arms Tournament] kit contains three copies of a special Champion Historical ’Mech and pilot from Clan Wolf-in-Exile."
As it reads "Historical" that doesn't necessarily mean WiE is actually going to be a new faction. They could just as easily put "Historical" Smoke Jaguar 'Mechs in future sets. (Oooh, misdirection! Wait, that sounds like someone's handle...)
Maaaaybe the MadCat IV belongs to the REAL mystery faction. We've never seen red tinted cockpits, before....
Yes Yes Yes!!!! Clan Wolf In Exile is coming, or Clan Wolf. In the Call to Arms tournament they are probably going to give out Phelan Kell with his Wolfhound! Iam so happy.
Advantage #4: making VTOL move-and-shoot attacks while Running or Charging.
Technically speaking, if it has speed mode VTOL, it won't be able to run or charge... or DFA, or assault order, or do breakaway damage to infantry... those are all abilities of units with speed mode 'Mech or Quad ;)
(It is for this reason that I don't think it's a VTOL 'Mech. Not unless they plan on making a whole new 'mech speed mode, in which case we have no idea what the rules applicable to it will be).
Whoops! My mistake.
However, you are only partly correct. Running is a function of speed mode, but Charging is not. Charge, DFA and AO are all function of unit type. All 'Mechs may Charge regardless of speed mode.
Although, if the 'Mech cannot run, I'm not sure how it can Charge.
Look at the other mechs - they all have one foot lifted, in a more "action-oriented" pose.
The Mech-that-is-not-on-the-ground (MTINOTG) has it's legs in a position that would suggest very strongly that it either just jumped into the air (with a little help from its jump jets), or is about to come down. Look too, just to the left side (as you face it). Does that hot look like a giant nozzle coming out it's backside?
My money is on jump jets. But listening to the rampant speculation otherwise is most entertaining.
Melee-oriented Bears is fine with me. Melee-oriented Bears with drills, not as much. Oh well, I'll just mod the heck out of them...
The Bear 'Mech on the left smacks more of an Arcas than a Tempest, but only in proportions. Looks like the totem design is squat and bulky (reared-up bear-like) with smooth, curved surfaces, and to-the-point, very little ornamental stuff. I hope the production versions will have a higher-quality camo job than the cruddy five-streak stuff on the paint masters. Wish they had a little blue on them, but I can just add that myself.
if they do make flying mechs i will leave the game for good cause flying mechs is no longer Battletech
Yeah!! Whoever heard of mechs that could fly?
What's that? LAM? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Only WizKids could think of something that stupid.
What's that? In Battletech? Well, not in what I consider Battletech to be! So there!!
Just to spite the haters, I hope it is a VTOL mech. Bwa haha ha!! I will reign doom down upon your groundpounding heads!! Up up and away!! It's a bird! It's a plane!! No! It's Supermech!!
It is a Jumping Jackalope JKL-CM-L. The Totem mech of Clan Fuzzy Bunny! :)
Hmm... that got me thinking ( a dangerous proposition), so I went back and checked the chat transcript from the last chat, where I found:
"For example, Domination will feature Kelly Bonilla in her TOP SECRET ‘Mech. "
My money says that they made her a Jumping Jackalope and decided to make a bunch more cause they already had the sculpt.
That jumping mech reminds me of an Ostscout or Flashman in looks. The RD mechs look good. They have a familar CBT look to them but I think they are both new.
I agree with Peppermeister. I'm sure it's a 'Mech in an action pose designed to bring a different look and feel to the battlefield like the interchangable arms of the new 'Mech in Annihilation. It's just a gimmick.
As for the medium 'Mech that has a torso that looks like a skull, it's an Ursus if I remember correctly.
The Jumping stick mounted mech seems to have a structure similar to a Night Hawk. But I think it is a completely new design that Kelly wanted to have out to drive us all mad with the stick on both models. I really hope it doesn't come mounted on a stick. I REALLY REALLY hope that it doesn't. I would have to cut it off and make it look respectable and that is alot of effort especially since of the two shown and the third that will probably appear (Republic with their Faction war ill-gotten gains) are all for factions I like but don't play.
Ehh oh well.
The middle one on the left looks like it has a 3 pronged claw on the arm to make it look more bear like and the bottom has a bear shaped head. RD must realy like the totem look.
Guh... what's with all these factions and "totem" mechs? You know, mechs that look like animals? It's kind of silly really. Making up birdie mechs for the Falcons, and more bears for the RD- not just the Kodiak and Grizzly. I suppose that they're going to make doggie like mechs for WiE and Mechs with cat whiskers for CNC... :tired: It's starting to remind me of Transformers: Beast Wars...
And for the love of God, please no LAMs!!! If one more game mechanic is added to MW, I think my brain is going to fry. Not to mention, they're so a rip-off of Macross. :p
