what is the basis for the lack of quality for the preview? As far as I could this is pretty much top notch. No, I am not a film or CG expert, but I think this is high quality work, also, this is a class project not a large budget film studio doing this.

Seriously for something made by students it was totally awesome! Loved the music track! I think people complain just for the sake of it! Heck enjoy the ride!

I'll reserve final judgement when the movie finally does come out. Until then I'll pass judgement on Vanguard when it comes out...Give me my WH Vulture MK IV! :grin:

I have to ask this... where do you guys see a Mad Cat III?

I see a Mad Cat IV (Alpha) and either a Mad Cat II or the students are answering our prayers and showing us a real Mad Cat... not once is there a Mad Cat III...

the Mad Cat III first of all has a gun turret on top, has weird looking missile racks, and tiny arms... none of those show up on the Mad Cat in the trailer...

are you sure its a paladin and not just a knight? remember, Anny can't be the only wolf hunter with a MC IV out there, just as Jonah cant be the only one with a new atlas.

As far as the quality is concerned...

Holy ####!! That was amazing. I am definitely buying a DVD of that. That's awesome it has the Wolf Hunters in it, and the animation is beautiful. But I tihnk the music makes me think of the whole seen as too beautiful, so I played various Metallica song intros over it and it made it seem cooler, if that's possible. I can't wait now.

I like the video, althought Wolf Hunters looks to have a number similar to Russian army groupe, a bit to much for mercenary unit.
What i didn't like were hemlets, if you are putting so much effort in looks and modeling mech to las detail, you shouldn't put an old aviator hemlet (about 1000 years old) and claim to be a neuro one. The one that atlas pilot has looks very different and is more inline with function of neurohemlet, not to provide protection but to balance the mech.

wow.. just wow, as a fanboy of the current Mechwarrior story I am very happy to see this, I really dont understand alot of the negativity going around here about this.
1. Lets wait for the movie to judge the acting, you never know, but some of these people could have been in Drama in high school or something. I just feel its wrong to expect the worst when we havent even seen anything to really express a harsh thought toward the acting ability.
2. I saw where someone was complaining about the animation, UMMMMKAYY.
They are students, this isnt a freaking Lucas Films production(but the thought of Ewoks being hunted by an Atlas does sound cool) so lets give them a break. It looks really good and I doubt these guys made this picture with the idea of "Lets not try our best on this on guys" . I think they are trying there best, and I think it is going to be a very exciting ride.
3. WOW THE MECHS DONT MOVE REALISTICALLY.....WHOPPPPIIIDD DEEEEE FREEEEAAAAKIIING DOO! This game and all entitys of it are set in a SCI FI universe. To me that means it doesnt have to be realistic, it can be as fictionous as they want it. It is made by students, It obviously wont have as big of a budget as a Hollywood Blockbuster.
So stop hating and start going GEEKING OUT!!! You dont have to impress us with your knowledge in the field of Robotics from over a 1000 years in the future. Stop griping over small things and please just watch it from the perspective of a person who is happy that the game they play or collect, is getting a movie, and Just be stoked!

Absolutely! I still have the old dossiers that came with the original starter set from Dark Age and it showed the symbols for Knight-Errants, Knights and Paladins. The Symbol on its right leg and inside the cockpit matches with the symbol for Paladins. The symbol is also on Paladin Jonah Levin's old Atlas' left shoulder.
