To allay any fears among the SWM fanbase:
SWM's next expansion is Alliance and Empire;) It's a special release for the 30th anniversary of Star Wars.
Contrary to what some people believe, this "slow-down" in the production of new MechWarrior items is good for some of us hardcore collectors. This has given me a chance to catch my breath and start to seriously thin out my collection to a more manageable size, plus as an added benefit I am able to try new games I've always wanted to play but MW took up all of my time before.
As to the predictions about MW and WizKids, I tend to take most predictions with a grain of salt anyway. When I was a teenager(back in the dark ages of the 1980's) there were all sorts of naysayers predicting the end of Dungeons & Dragons(and RPGs in general) by the end of the 80s. Guess what? They were wrong. I think that MechWarrior will still be around for a few more years(maybe longer).
I regret tossing my cookies after a party in college once...:cheeky:
I remain cautiously optimistic. The teaser from the Oregon-WK Challenge leads me to believe this game will go on for some time to come. Regarding the slowdown in releases, I am looking forward to being able to catch up on some odds and ends that I am missing, and to make some 3D terrain I've been dreaming about.
