What!?
I'm still at a loss to see how this is a bad thing (assuming it's true)...

This is nothing new, and I hope everyone is having a good time dancing to it. I know I am.
Correction: The Overload threads are still here. The biggest one has 650 replies, and over 20,000 hits. If we combine the Enemy thread and all the ARB banning threads and the anti-whining thread... then we are almost reaching the fever pitch of the pre-ban Overload days.
Or we could just go roll around in the Keebe-fest.
you kow what i am so tired of all this BS i'm quiting vs forever. i got into this game because of the fact that i wouldnt have to worry about banned cards and collecting a bunch of good stuff to just have it lay around doing nothing. vs almost promised a no bann policy when it came out and now they're just renigging on that.
nah i'm playing it just seems some ppl are taking the banning to far i think it's BS too but for everyone out there saying they are gonna quit or something to that sorts then just quit. and don't post your gonna quit just do it.the banning sucks but we will get some good insight tommorow or hell if youre all into it then stay up till 12:00 tonight and be the first to post about it here.
and if the explaination they give us isn't a good one i'll be the first to ##### about.
love peace and chicken greese
Uhh...you can keep the grease, but I'm down with the other two. And Stu, you forgot to add Null Time Zone to your been there done that #####fest list. Everyone was crying holy murder then, too.
If people need a space to ge it out of their system, why not give it to them?
I've needed it in the past, and whether I agree or disagree with whatever our friends here have to say, I respect their right to express their rage.
Clearly, there are people who will view the desire to quit over something as childish. That may be their upbrining, or it might be part of their arrogance. Who can say?
Rarely do people say 'gosh, I don't see a problem with that, but I'll help you find a solution any way'.
Maybe if those of you that are so busy tearing down some one with a problem with where things are going here would instead turn your energy in to helping that player find the root of what they loved about the game and ways to stay instead, maybe there would be fewer hate posts to begin with...?
I am lucky to have had people that convinced me to try to be patient while waiting on ude to fix things or to add characters ( might seem childish, but if I can't play with what I want to play with, why play? ).
I have way too much invested in Vs to simply throw it all away. But I don't mind some one needing to vent or even getting out of the game in the first place. They have valid concerns, whether we agree with them all or not.
UDe might do well to continue to observe how passionate players are about those concerns.
If there are problems severe enough that players are prepared to quit, then maybe, just maybe it is worth re-examining.
Team up cards have been with the game from the beginning. It is only logical that cards should exist to make said team ups operate more efficiently.
right?
The lack of availability of the card is partially a markting ploy. The game is a collectable game, remember?
The power of Enemy of my enemy is not so great as the opportunities it opens up.
I personally, don't think enemy is a problem. I think it is good for the game and can't wait to get my last one ;)
I also think that people that don't enjoy playing against power players should avoid playing with power players. That means that if you want to play for fun, play with friends that find it as much fun as you do to pit the FF against the GLC. Or see if Doom would be a better match for the Xmen than MAgneto's Brotherhood. Or see who's Brotherhood is stronger, Magneto or Mystique.
I have a friend that does things like make teams based on the colors of uniforms or the kid that made a deck all around fire and ice people.
That stuff is fun. Titans netdecked from the high heavens will destroy these fun decks.
If you want out of the game, I respect that.
Put your cards in a closet and spend the summer at the beach. You owe it to yourself. Come back to the game later and check it out and see if you find things you like have come back in style.
There's always ebay however, if you just can't hack it any more. Someone would love to have all of those cards ;)

And you should have lots of time with her/him since you quit VS. Responding anymore to any of the complaint threads only confirms your desire for attention.
Hoo boy, that's good stuff. I got that on permanent clipboard to drop the bomb around here whenever neccesary. Thank you.

And, honest to God, there was an actual petition to ban Longshot. I am not lying.
Holy murder is a good sign, right? Each new set causes the sky to fall... must be a very popular game.
First off, I can see why JLoA had to be banned. It has a very powerful effect that is extremely difficult to disrupt once it is on motion. This turns it inot a game of solitare. Obviously, not good for the game.
Next, ARB being banned is a good move, and here's why. While errata may have solved the current problem with the card, in the long term, that errata would only hinder R&D and force them to keep equipment toned down in the future. I don't know about you, but I like equipment. It's one of the more interesting parts of the game. The FFun deck is a fun deck(pardon the pun), and fairly competative, but it was going to cause the same type of problems that JLoA was going to cause. The other reason is that banning one card is better than banning 3,4, even 5 or more, correct? I'm not sure how many of you play or have played MTG, but there was a time during one particular run of the Extended format where a certain Necro deck was killing the format. So to fix it, a few key cards were banned, and the powers that be seemed to think that solved the problem. Unfortunately, they were wrong, and said Necro deck continued to ruin the format. Finally, someone had that little light bulb blink on and shouted "Wow, Necro has been the problem the whole time!!". What UDE has done is avoid the fiasco of banning the wrong cards and hitting the nail on the head right off. Great job UDE! And for everyone who may think that the Fate Artifacts are the real problem, you have a good arguement, but not a great one. After the two fixes because of those cards in the past month(which were needed, but also speaks volumes of the direction that R&D is trying to take this game) they should be kept balanced and in check.
Finally, we have EoME. Let's see, a playset will run about $140 US right now, correct? That is a bit pricey, but I don't remember people pissing & moaning this much about the price of Savage Beatdown when it was around that range, and EoME is a WAY better card than SB could ever hopt to be. It allows for diversity in the meta, and I don't see how that ruins the game. If anything, it makes it better, and will draw in new players. And since EoME is legal in Golden AND Silver, it is a card that is well worth the investment. Still pissed about the price? Then go take a look at MTG Standard right now. In order to play ANY of the truely competative decks, you have to drop $100-$120 just on a playset of rare lands! That doesn't inlude any of the cards that actually affect overall gameplay! Still too pricey for you? hen build a deck that doesn't use it and wreck people with it! Seriously, if you're this angry over a card's value, then prove it is over priced. That should shut everyone up.
As for all of the people #####ing, #####ing about the #####ing, etc., heres my two cents. Every person has a right to their opinion, and a right to express that opinion as long as it is done with proper respect and decorum. A breach of decorum would include repeating it every 10 seconds, even after everyone has aknowledged your opinion at least twice. If you want to be heard, ypou need to speak to the right people. Nobody on these boards can affect a change in UDE policy, so bombard them with emails until you get results, for or against your stance, with a fully rationalized explanation. And if that doesn't satisfy you, then please leave the rest of us alone. And as for the arguemtns of "Then don't read the posts", I would say "how am I supposed to follow the conversation if I don't read them" Or perhaps "It's kind of hard to not read them when you are responsible for over half the posts in the thread". Depends on the situation I guess.
Now that I'm done pulling a Stu, I'll get off my soapbox.
I love it when we have a thread that stu post in so often, it makes me happy with glee. Also for one to say that EmoE is hurting the metagame is kinda, well in my opinion it's just not true. Arkham has been a favorite hated team, some don't like them, others love them ( shakes his arkham deck in the air ). However the didn't truly show up as a deck that could win consistantly, ( save rigged elections which seemed to disappear until recently ). This was mainly due to the fact that they didn't have consistancy in character tutorness and lacked little to lead to a good team up engine. Some may debate this, I can understand that as my arkham deck it's self is pretty darn good, but it doesn't always get the job done. However because of EomE we have a arkham/brotherhood deck that won a top 8!!! I would go on further but I think tauron nox managed to sum it up very, very well.
Maybe its me, but I don't ever hear anyone complain about the price of Enemy. Sure, its expensive, but it matters little to me and whoever else is strictly a mono-team player. My beef is that Enemy stifles those that wish to play curve. It actually hurts affiliation.
If someone can give me a good explaination as to how it has HELPED this game other than turn it into a weenie/rush/best character from every team on each drop/games ending on 5 and below/making it useless to play curve or high drops...
THEN and only then, will I not complain about it ruining VS. A valid argument against those points, not a longwinded statement about how it opens up new possibilities/versatility and deck "creativity". EOME creates deck Slaughterhouses.
I really didn't agree with him on some other issues, but I am seeing eye to eye with greensleeves on this one. I don't want to start another Enemy debate thread ( we already have one of those ), but its only so expensive because it is so stupid nuts. The price is a byproduct of the problem, not the problem itself.
