UDE is involved in other countries, but it's not a European company. It does not have to provide anything to Europe that it doesn't want to. They cannot handle running a European program.

what they say about you not being able to see what they mean holds true. his post stated that UDE has operations in other countries, so why wouldn't it support those countries? very little is done over there. I saw it myself.

He didn't make any indication that UDE is not an american company.

Ukyo, form what i understand, its not UDE's fault that HOG isnt here yet. From what i understand, NG, which has a virtual monopoly on importing CCGs is wary about ordering due to the decrease in event attendance, or something.

BackAgain, im curious as to why you think that UDE should favor American players. i know it seems like a silly question as UDE is based in the US, but as an org that seeks to profit from its products, doesnt alienating its foreign clients strike you as an un-profitable move?

But i have to agree with BackAgain on simply enjoying the game (at least i hope that was one of his points).

Yes, being rewarded for playing is great, but if you simply play the game to get prizes, might as well play a game that has solid support. i admit that i WOULD like to see more support from UDE, but heck, i have more important things to worry about. So enjoy what you have.

It's not necessarily a matter of being unprofitable. If I had to guess, I'd say that it's more profitable to operate in the US than it is to operate overseas, so their attention is focused here.

I see absolutely no reason to put any money into the European market right now. The game is struggling in its home base. UDE needs to shore up its defenses at home right now and get the game back on track in the US. NO resources should be devoted to even more dead areas right now.

I'm not saying this because I hate Europe or anywhere else. I just dont think its feasible to try and prop up a dead market when your only viable market is dying on the vine. It sucks that we have to lose the european players, as they are some of my favorite posters on this site, but it has to be done right now. I think Donias intimated as much in that press release.

UDE seems to have decided against spreading themselves too thin. Rather than try to encompass the whole world and end up doing it poorly, they have tried to pull back and focus their resources on what they can manage well. It is very difficult to manage a global organized play system. There are so many subdivisions and layers of organization, the end result is checks not being sent, product not releasing on time, hobby league kits not getting there. Obviously, UDE was faltering in Europe and Southeast Asia. Clearly, they were disorganized and the operation was mismanaged.

It sucks that the result was that they are seeming to move focus away from those troubled regions, but it seems to be a business decision on UDE's part. If a plant has leaves that are drying up and dying, a good gardener prunes those dying leaves so that the plant can flourish.
Of course, a better gardner would see to it that they got enough water in the first place, but maybe UDE just doesn't have the resources.

I for one am sad to see the number of players in Europe and Southeast Asia dwindle and have their remaining numbers become bitter and frustrated. I hope things get better for you guys.

The whole problem began because overseas players came into a thread designed to be positive, and continued their relentless complaining. As the above posts show, there are people who agree with what I was saying.

I do not go into the Europe thread in Dear UDE and say anything. Because that place is appropriate for whining about UDE - Europe. This thread is not, and I explained myself. Since it's clear most people don't care about hearing anything other than themselves, I responded only to personal attacks.

The above three posts are amazing, and everyone should read them if they still couldn't grasp what I was saying.

Perhaps when chip ahoy! tells people to shut up, they'll listen. I know I'm done with this. (Barring any personal attacks, of course)
