Well, in my Civil War expansion (currently in progress) I show Pro-Registration and Anti-Registration characters using counters, for example:
Iron Man, Civil Servant
Character // SHIELD / Avengers // Cost: 6 // Flight / Range // ATK: 13 // DEF: 12
- Registered(This character comes into play with a Registration counter on it.)
- Leader: Whenever Iron Man stuns a character without a registration counter on it, you may exhaust a SHIELD character you control. If you do, KO that character.
Registration Act
Plot Twist //2
- If you control one or more characters with a Registration counter on them, draw a card.
- Ongoing: Characters with Registration counters on them gain the Pro-Registration team affiliation.
Negative Zone Prison
Location //4
- When you flip Negative Zone Prison, put a Registration counter on target character without a Registration counter on it.
- Activate, Exhaust a character you control with cost X >>> Exhaust target character with a Registration counter on it, move it to it's owner's hidden area and it can't use payment powers this turn.
Captain America, Secret Avengers
Character // Avengers // Cost: 3 // Range // ATK: 6 // DEF: 4
- Leader: At the start of each phase, remove all Registration counters from character adjacent to Captain America.
- Avengers characters adjacent to Captain America get +1 ATK.
