There are about three different threads, at least, all talking about the OP is coming, we have no information, let's get everyone posting, speculating, getting all worked up, getting nervous of the impending doom that is coming around the corner.

I was merely pointing out that his response to Stu that the point of this thread was letting his players know about this was HARDLY the only reason for posting this thread.

I'm not saying he's a bad guy. However, he's not being entirely forthright in terms of why he started this thread in the first place. Heck, I'd be fine if he just went with the "putting more pressure on UDE to get this up ASAP".

Put yourself in his position, if you had your players doubting the game and wanting to quit and meaning you were loosing a game in your schedule wouldn't you want to alert your players of what might be happening. don't speak unless you've been fighting for the survival of this game like erick has, he constantly tells us at pcq's and sneak peaks of upcoming events and not to loose faith, he said to think twice if your getting out of the game especially since alot of things were announced already, PC Indy was confirmed, we are waiting on this OP announcement which is going to be HUUUGE for the game and erick was simply telling us that our pcq maybe cancelled and he is alerting us about what's going on and what may happen with scgevents and VS and how IMPORTANT it is for socal.

You are taking this out of context to suit your opinion.

I posted this thread saying it was not meant to be negative, that I verified our PCQs have been put on hold and how I think it will affect future VS OP.

It wasn't until Stu barged in and accused me of posting a pointless thread where I said (and maybe I should clarify this for WAKO) at the least... it informs MY LOCAL PLAYERS of what is going on. Where did I say that was the "only reason"?

And just because I also criticized UDE in that same response makes my original post some covert attempt to say the the sky is falling? That, in effect, is calling me a liar, and you need to check yourself.

VsRealms is bigger than socal ... don't take that the wrong way. All I'm saying is that, there are better ways to get information to his players than potentially inciting panic on the Realms.

I apologize if I'm coming off a little abrupt, I've been running around banning BackAgain and thugmotiv who have been popping up a NUMBER of times in the last couple of days.

And on the subject of "don't speak unless"

(a) No one outside my area knows how much or how little I dedicate to this/other games outside of the forum ... and this pretty much applies to just about everyone else. So it's the equivalent of a "I don't know you so shut up". It's an internet phenomenon of "You wouldn't understand" [which we already had an entire "if you aren't from socal you wouldn't understand" thread that was posted on the VsRealms forums and anyone from outside of SoCal were told to not participate]

(b) By that argument, MOST people shouldn't be posting on this thread

(c) The information is out there ... NOW what is the purpose of this thread? Until the OP is announced ... nothing. So, erick, is there a point to keep this thread open? Or can we lock it and start a new [hopefully singular] thread once the OP is announced?

See, this is what I was talking about in the "OP Forum Poll" thread.

It does not need to be stickied as it should get addressed some time today.

I don't really care if it's unlocked or not. I'm sure the drama provides some entertainment for the masses.

I just wanted to share as much information as I am legally allowed. I have been asked about our PCQs since last Friday (we took our schedule down Thursday night) and people from other areas have asked me about it too (since I was the one who said that that we have scheduled ours). I would have actually posted this on Friday but I expected an OP update (that didn't happen). Then over the weekend I was asked more questions and someone finally posted a thread about it here. I don't know how to contact all of my players and I know many of them frequent this board so I figured this thread would not only help my local area but other areas too.

Maybe some people don't appreciate what or how I do things... but that's not going to stop me from doing what I think should be done.

Oh... and one other thing:

If UDE does announce there will be no more PCQs... I was hoping this thread would foster discussion into how we could adapt to that.

I did not. I said that the only thing we can do with a thread like this is fight about something that we have no power over. And that's what we did.

I'm guessing any announcement would likely start a new thread anyway ... considering the lack of an announcement has started three I can think of off the top of my head.

I apologize for implying you may have ulterior motives in starting the thread.

However, you are obviously a veteran member of the Realms and have seen enough threads to at least recognise why people would see this thread as, yet another, "sky is falling" thread ... or at least have a massive bullseye painted on it for people to come in and turn it into one.

Call me crazy, but I read "Damn, erick. You turned this place into a wating room at the hospital. Good times." as critical of Erick. If you'd like to explain how this was actually complimentary, go ahead.

Look, I'm sure you know something I don't about what UDE is going to announce, and I'm sure it will address some/many/most of the concerns that people are raising. I'm also sure that when the announcement comes out you will be dancing around the Realms like a dervish, crying "I told you so! This is still the best of all possible worlds!"

But even if UDE announces sweeping changes to the OP system that most people are happy with, that doesn't mean that they should be immune to criticism. This announcement should have been made in late December or early January, not late February, and the uncertainty and spreading cloud of gloom caused by the delay has done far more irreparable damage than either you or UDE seem to understand.

I'm reserving any real comment until something is posted by the higher-ups.

All I will say is this: Getting rid of PCQs is a very bad thing to do. I don't mind maybe changing things up, like making the formats a block ahead, meaing if the PC will be silver, all the PCQ's beforehand are silver.

I hope we get this awnsered today. Because PCQs are the life-blood of the potential pro. I mean, without PCQs how will the casual player become pro? At a 50K?

I an't going to say the sky is falling, an announcment explaining this hasn't been made. But is its quite disconserting to have the PCQ's pulled all of a sudden and no one at the moment knows exactly why.
