I think one of my biggest disappointments from this all is that I started judging a few weeks ago also, and was looking forward to the prospect of judging some PCQ's because I had points and what not....but now if the PCQ's actually die here I may not ever go on judging because I only get to play competitively once every month or so.
I know schneider....I was just saying that they have yet to meet a deadline yet this month.....I was sarcastically jesting that 5-6 pm pacific tonight doesn't mean tonight at all.
I'm not going to try to speak for UDE, but he did say they're doing away with PCQs as they are. Do you really think they're going to have a PC several months away with no more chances to qualify? They're obviously going to replace it with something. Don't be silly.
I remember a business class I had oh...4 or so years ago where we were talking about Public Relations, Manufacturing, and deadlines.
The teacher said "Don't ever make a deadline public unless you are 99.9 percent sure you can achieve it. Otherwise it creates a negative image in the minds of your consumers and stock-holders."
I don't think that this will hurt the stock-holders in UDE neccesarily because they diversify over many different products. However, I can't help but think that they should probably hold off on making deadlines for themselves they can't meet because I know many people are at least a little bit upset that things have become so wishy washy in terms of actual release dates and projected/announced release dates.

I'm sure they will replace it with something. I wouldn't guarntee it happening before the PC though.

Before which PC? Sydney? Were there PCQs scheduled for this weekend that are being cancelled? Do you really think they're going to cancel events that soon?
If you're talking about Indy, I have faith that they aren't going to say "Okay, PCQs are gone now, we'll give you a replacement in a few months".

Yeah I was talking about Sydney. I don't see any of these events starting until mid or late March.
But there are still PCQs this upcoming weekend. Several of them. And then the week after is Sydney. So this isn't affecting Sydney at all.
I wasn't saying they were stopping people from going to Sydney. I was just saying these events will take some time to get started. So there may be a few weeks without any tournaments other than hobby league.

Well, since I'm hoping for a format change, I wouldn't want a tournament right away anyway. ;)
