Madelyne Pryor
40
Effect: your oponents starts with 5 more endurance than they normally would start with. If any of them are female and are not in danger in reguards to the bmi, they must play pantsless and they start with another 5 endurance extra.
I wish I had marvel teamup :( Looks like it would be a fun format, expect that everyone is either playing stall or having their syndicate guys blown out by hawkeye order order order.....
Well, this is basically the idea that Legend of the Five rings had in starting with differrent fortresses..... your basic starting stats varied, and you had a unique ability. Same with Spoils! actually, so nothing groundbreaking.
But, a fun idea nonetheless.
I am just glad they limited it to a single set, otherwise it is beyond broken. There are even some questions that will need to be cleared up before this goes into effect.
1) on Spideys exhaust, can this be chained to, or is it like Puppetmaster and the chaining will disqualify that character as the exhaust to the effect?
2) Mephisto doesn't say to recover a character you control.
Just the first 2 issues that come to mind, let alone any specific card interactions.
Yeah, because when I think of dumbing down the game I think about adding another layer of game play and deck choice to do it. That always works. Instead of stripping team affiliations down or simplifying effects, lets give each person the choice to change the rules so that every match your deck has to be prepared for 8 different ways to play the game. That'll be like... twice as ha- I mean easy. :p
That's kind of a silly way to look at it, ObsidionKnight. I certainly don't want all VS games to start playing like this but it's a great format to keep people interested and invigorate game play. And it damn sure doesn't "dumb" it down.
Spiderman is annoying as all hell. No readying is just plain busted. How do you deal with something like that? It beat my underworld deck repeatedly ( and it was different spiderfriends decks that did it!!
And before anyone says my underworld deck just sucks, strip away those ego cards, and underworld wrecks house on those bug brains.
Hell, my friend used my spider friends deck, which, while pretty decent itself, still shouldn't have been able to totally man handle me like that.
I tried out the mephisto and the dr. octopus, and did better with doc ock.

The Spider-man effect doesn't target a character ... so it's like a Puppet Master effect. They could chain by exhausting ALL of their characters, otherwise they have to exhaust one that is still ready.
As for Mephisto ... it could be possible to go with a Future Foes type game plan and recover one of your opponent's characters so that you can attack it again next turn ... especially if it's a character your opponent would want to leave play [like one of the Syndicate characters that burns each combat phase]

You know we were thinking about this last night and the only answer we could come up with is Quicksilver, Teragenesis Rebirth. no need to be readied to use his effect. Maybe go Defenders Sam, Hulk, Quicks, 4-5-6 take the evens get 5 attacks with 2 characters on turn 6; use the Venom AE so they can't reinforce (unless they got some sort of poker get together scheduled), and try to end it before Stark's Lackey er...Protege comes out.
yeah I'm not a huge fan of the Fastest Mutant Alive (now that Northstar is dead) either, but as I expect the format to be pretty stall heavy, as would be only natural in a set featuring Spidey getting the extra breaks is critical.
I typically hate stall as a strategy. I get that some people's favorite characters don't exist as low drops, so you have to stall to get to play your favorites.
I'm working on a Defenders build tonight to use the Hulk more than my existing one did.
