In all seriousness, I understand the point of view that says that this card is somewhat weak. I would like it much better as a 0 cost equipment, but I can also see where they wouldn't want something that was as powerful and easy to play as Mystical Paralysis. However, I still think that an x drop Batman + 1 drop Batarang will be a viable play on turn x+1 in certain stall decks. In a deck that's trying to stall to turn 8, it's essentially the same as having a low powered 5 drop that says "Activate, discard a card -> Exhaust target character. Use this ability only once per game."
Card analysis is the provenance of the truly good players. Since I am not the latter, I have not the former.
So I use a very simple method of determining my excitement about a previewed card that is a rare. Will I grin or groan when I open this in one of my DWF packs?
Groan. Loudly. Same goes for Interrogation. Though more so. My only hope is that they (UDE) are getting the blah previews out of the way so that the "ZOMG" moments are saved for when we open up our shiny new packs. Of course, this hope was also held for DLS, and well, we all know what happened there.

Brian in addition to having great taste in college basketball teams I agree with you.
I hope everyone thinks this card really is bad. That way if I have to buy any batarang singles they won't cost so much.
It is a card that has restrictions but so does gift wrapped. They should never again make a card exactly like mystical paralysis. It is way too powerful.
You nay sayers need to see that batarang allows you to go off curve & survive. It is signifigantly better then the old batarang & hasn't gotham always been an off curve combo vareity deck anyways???
Especially without seeing the other tricks it sure is hard to say that this card is bad.
Lets take a look at this from what we already know:
so say on turn 5 you play a batarang on 3 drop batman & drop a second 4 drop which is superman. Then lets say 4 drop supes abuses best of the best to stop someone from attacking that turn.
Doesn't that crush defenders????
No moonknight triple attack!
No hulk!!!
Especially with the invulnerabilty of supes how can this be bad?
The worlds finest set looks different then anything I have ever seen in versus. As far as we know the superman batman stuff could verily be like xstatixs or hellboy except with 2 characters on the feild.
Ok,like a lot of people I'm going to hope the rest of the set gives us something so we don't think this is a junk rare,so until then the only thing I'll complain about this card is
Why the hell can it only be equipped to Batman?Off the top of my head I can name 6 other people that used Batarangs, and I'm sure I missed a few.Apparently JJJ can become Doctor Fate but only one man can toss a batarang around.Should've been GK-stamped at the very least,or maybe have some kind of extra benefit to equipping to batman(returns to your hand, life gain, etc)
The card is by far the strongest exhaustion effect when seen since mystical paralysis. being able to TARGET who gets exhausted is extremely good. I don't see how under drop is bad when you get tap down your opponents biggest characters.
Gift Wrapped also let you target. Spider-Man, Stark's Protege also let you target. If your unstated thought was "being able to target anyone without regards to cost who gets exhausted is extremely good", then yeah. But having to pay a resource point, having to have a specific character in play and having to telegraph your intentions by having the card on the board (and not being able to bluff that you have the exhaustion) make the card less good.

"on par" does not mean "exactly the same".
Now, I don't mean to tell you you are wrong in your promotion of this card, but I do not share the enthusiasm for it. I'm sure this means I'll get beaten by the Batarang I pass in draft, but until I get locked down with this, I'll continue to be pessimistic about its utility (as I am with any 1 cost equipment that doesn't have a way to reduce its cost). If all you have to say in response is a criticism of my pessimism, feel free to save it. Unless you've got a preview of a Gotham Knights card that makes Batarang better, you're not going to change my mind and I'm pretty sure you're not going to change yours.
