The closest one to me is over 4 hours away, so I will not be attending.
Part of the potential attendance problem may be that some of the ES locations seem to be places that have never supported VS in the past. Not the smartest move.
Yes I know really. On UDEs side did you know that Your Move Games had the paperwork and LOST it and thats why there was not a ES in the Massachusetts area. That's what the Problem may be is that some gaming stores are a little :knockedou . I'm not saying UDEs not to blame either but some of the blame should be tossed at some stores as well.
You're right on the math, I apologize. I just love to see your nostrils flair over something so trivial.
Heh... everytime I prove you wrong... you go straight for the "trivial" card. That's called "sore loser".

Uhh... says the guy who thinks that people posting on Realms about selling out of MVL proves the game is not dead.
My comment was to those several people on this thread... which this thread *is* a direct barometer of (unless I assume when a poster says he's not going he's just lying).
So far... it seems like the big problems cited are:
1. Proximity (so UDE needs to find out where their VS players are)
2. Prizing (which is supposed to be a non-issue but I guess not)
3. Cost (I do agree that $20 may be a bit high for Constructed w/out a set guideline for TO prizing)
4. Wives (just kidding)

If you thought I was serious, about anything, you have issues. You really are a slow learner, I will give you that much.
I will bow out now, and you can continue to pursue the definitive solution to the problems inherent in the system. Just remember one thing...
You lobbied long and hard about the basic flaw in the game: Too Difficult For n00bs. What happened? They are making Marvel Ultimate Battles and releasing it in WalMart.
If they do successfully market MUB in Wallmart/Target whatever it may be a good vehicle for reintroducing VS to those retailers, if it does well enough it may even be a good crowbar for wrenching it into the reluctant. If that happens and they can keep VS from completely imploding due to lack of PC/OP/$ announcements and the general bad will that seems to generate even down to the otherwise untournament interested it could easily be marked as a badge of maturity and intellect to be able to "move up" to a grown-up level card game with a serious OP, I mean your little brother plays MUB, I mean sure you used to too, but that was back before you turned like what 12, now you hang in the big leagues, though you still don't mind throwing down with your little bro for a simple MUB match it is a little less skill intensive and still kinda fun, but oh bro when you get old enough it VS for you and me and the next PC!
See
Darn now Stu's got me wearing the rainbow, I was gonna say I liked the surlier Stu, but now I'm not so sure.

Oh... you were just kidding... again.
Yeah... sorry... my issues and stupidity prevent me from riding the lesbian unicorn into your everlasting Viagra adventures.
Anyways... back to Elite Series attendance issues:
1. Locations can be fixed... you guys need to let UDE know what the best venues to have these at.
2. Prizing... like what? More EA Mobilizes? I do agree that some type of alternate version of money cards would be better than Exclusives that can be attained via Points.
3. Cost... can also be fixed.
4. Football... sorry... in a few months that won't be an issue anymore.
In all honesty... I'm not sure if any of the above problems are huge factors... people would still not go... let's face it... not that many people are interested in playing... this was evident back when we did have PCQs.
For ####'s sake man, I am always kidding. How many times do I have to tell you that before it gets through your thick ape skull? I have only PRETENDED to be serious to get a rise out of you, and it works every time. No wonder you have two mini-vans.
Damn you Mexicans and your delicious cuisine. I swear the only reason I work is to support Chipotle Grill and their unscrupulous business practices - two dollars for Guacamole wtf?

Hehe... you don't get it. Oh well.
And yes... I wish I had a Chipotle near my store... although we do have Baja Cantina (or whatever the name of that overpriced place is).
As for prizing, one cool thing is that they could reprint popular out of print cards in the new frame, similar to Friday Night Magic cards like Forbid and Reanimate. You'd just have to make some sort of disclaimer that they're only legal in the sets they'd normally be legal anyways.
Having the Elite Series qualify you for some type of Invitational only tournament would be nice - though this is obviously dependent on us having OP.
I think reprinting in print money cards is actually a bad idea. Cards like Oa were worth a lot until they became so widely available in EA form. I think if the cards are to have value, it's not that great of an idea to give players too easy a means to acquire chase rares - unless you severely restrict the amount of them available.
EA generics would definitely get a rise out of people.
Another thing that I've been wondering: When will we get extended arts in the new frame? I mean WoW has them so I guess the question is more like why don't we have them.

One thing about this... the point store has already "sold out" of one of the cards.
The whole "you can always get one off the Point Store" line about prize cards ignores that you only get 4, and there is still a limited suppy. Heck, think about AFTER they make an actual announcement and all the people that were waiting to act that need those cards and they aren't even available through the store anymore ...
