Not to bring this back on topic, or to move it from the realm of old lady footwear fetishes, or to thank everyone involved because just being nominated is the real honor and in two categories is astounding, but do you think that such high level prizing is good for a game espousing casualness? Will the Sharks surface for free air fare, or are we Ok as long as we don't pore cash into the pool? I must be losing it because I can't find the Sea Green Cash Shark joke, damn.

I'm pretty sure all I'll get out of wiggling my pole around here is a stiff repremand from Erick about what is appropriate in a childrens' forum. But considering the hits this is driving on the local events page I'm willing to take my chances.

First off, I'd like to point out that even though this is a "casual" game, it's not a Kitchen table only game - It's still a very competitive level game.

With that said, I have two views on it. On one hand I think it's good for the game because it invites more players (including the sharks) to attend an event which they may have originally opted not to attend for some reason or other.
On the other hand, i think that the prizing (as great as it is) sets an unrealistic bar for others to have to follow. Not all retailers can offer or match such great prizing (or even close to), which may discourage some from running future events in fear that players may not attend their events because they are not offering cross country flights (this is just an assumption on my part though).
