There are no planned non-Marvel Evolution announcements until after the release of Marvel Evolution.
Sit back and enjoy the show!
Hey TBS, first of all thanks for coming by the forums and answering questions. It is much appreciated.
Secondly, when is the official release date of Marvel Evolution and how excited are we gonna be about the non-Marvel Evolution announcement(s) after the release?
(Can't blame a guy for trying.) :)
Whoa. Shift looks complicated (not non-understandable, but too much text too safely put a card). Nice idea though. If you can suffer a bit of under-dropping, you can put your high drop out-of-play safe, then charge up it's counters without anything else touching it. The trick, I suppose, would be keeping enough board adantage not to die in the meantime.
Or is there a card I'm not thinking of that can affect removed from the game characters?
This is NOTHING like Suspend... Suspend lets you play more cards for LOWER than their costs while costing you more time. Shift lets you play cards for the SAME cost while costing you more time.
I don't think it's that great as a mechanic. Energize is brokenly good as a mechanic. Not saying ban hammer or "horrible for the game," but it's a serious gain with no drawback. Press and Energize are great because it gives you something concrete for nothing. Press gives resources (how did R&D ever think that wasn't broken, I'll never understand), Energize gives a free exhaust. Nothing else gives you something for nothing. Even Reservist "costs" you a spot on your resource row.
Shift can be good, and I'm excited about it, but it'll need strong support be good.
Press wasn't broken because it was placed on a limited team, was an insane drain on your hand, and the characters who had it usually had nothing else that was useful, and didn't have major stats. Sure, it was abused, but it was never broken.

It was broken. If there was a reason for it not seeming as such, it was because luckily (or perhaps unluckily) Quicksilver was more broken. (Ahmed too). There are more broken single cards (Dr. Light), but there has never been a more ridiculous mechanic printed as Press. In terms of mechanics, Press is at least Quicksilver, if not Dr. Light (non-Light Show) good. I mean, I think Dr. Light + Press was what finally pushed them to all out ban Dr. Light. Who's to say that it wasn't the Press part of that that didn't cause that? I mean, they're not going to ban an entire team from a set they just released.
I think about it this way. While we survived (to an extent) with most of these cards, I feel that R&D would be foolish to reprint the same cards or mechanics onto new cards.
if we get a whole bunch of low drops with shift. it could be just as power full as press.. looking foward to it all. cant wait to see the rest of the cards
Well Shift has been clearedso lets get some ideas flowing. Here is what I came up with. Team up X-men and Exiles. 4th turn Illyana, 5th turn the new Jamie. Jamie gets stunned remove him from the game, get 5 Multiple Man from MVL into play. Have a Children of the Atom on stand by for Illyana just in case she gets stunned. Next turn Fastball Special Galore.
