Avengers '59 answers the question what does it take to make Sabretooth a protagonist?
Answer, Nazi's!
I do like the two options depending if you want to start off as an angry face wrecker or a skulking psychopath.
When You Need Dirty Work Done, It's All "Hey, Great to See You, Victor Ol' Pal…", Oh, this is going to see a lot of use and when combined with the 90 point starting line its going to let Vic wreak havoc behind your opponents lines.
Or at least that's how I'd use him.
I like how your working Primes into various teams and theme's in the set with an eye to y'know actually being able to use them with their teammates. If only WizKidz did the same.
…But The Minute I Want to Just Kill Somebody, It's "Ooh, Ooh, Bad Sabretooth.":, Oh Vicky your nothing if not predictable.
Its hard to keep Sabretooth off when he smells blood and giving him the ability to quickly finish off the wounded is horrifically keeping in character for Vic.

ah, yes, nazis. the answer to everything. wait...
ahem, so yeah here's something that is very much drawing from avengers '59 but is an attempt to be an everyman sabretooth, too. hence the veritable cornucopia of KWs (man, he gets around) and the ai ta really fits vic. there's also a clear similarity to kraven, albeit remixed. they both skulk but somehow are doing it differently. while kraven's feels more calculated and menacing, vic's is full-on slasher flick. i was going back to the ol prime format of the dials being similar. and it was such a jackpot that kraven and sabretooth have such incredibly similar costumes that i had never noticed before putting the set together. they both get cold necks and backs, apparently. and here they're both opting for mega-crouch to optimize pounce-sneakiness
sometimes when doing research for dials, i read a line that's just gold. and the gripe that was split into his 2 s were the perfect thing i was looking for for this effect. as you pointed out, victor is all about putting down the weak and wounded. i tried to keep the from being abusable, he can't use it to alpha strike, but can use it to set up DEEP movement if he feels confident (looks at cr flavor text) and the quake is there on the 90pter to help set up the . wound everyone and take your time lunging at the leftovers . the also only allows a close attack, not CLOSE, so aside from the secondary opening things up for those on their way out anyway, it'll just be vanilla strikes. but when you plan for it, he can do a LOT of work, hence me thinking he doesn't need the to make the dial work
as for the primes layout, yes, 100%. i tire of primes that can't work together. it's a real priority that i arrange them such that the team overlaps (at least in themes) don't include multiple primes. like, why? also when making a pair, i try to make the previously made character the prime to help with accessibility if i haven't already come up with an idea so broke that only a green ring can save it
(+10)Soldier-For-Hire: Dominic Fortune is a Wildcard and AUTONOMOUS. When establishing themed teams, Dominic Fortune gains the named keyword of another character on your starting force. Lying, Cheating And Stealing My Way Through Life: Shape Change, but Dominic Fortune can also use it when targeted by Perplex, Probability Control or Outwit. If he succeeds his Shape Change roll when targeted by one of those powers, Dominic Fortune can use that power until the end of your next turn. Protected: Outwit.

I'll gladly pay 60 points for a highly mobile secondary harasser that won't eat up my actions and has a more than fair chance to slip out of my enemies damage powers.
I think I'd use Duvid to work my way around and take out my opponents support and hopefully get in a few shots at their attackers and if he gets taken out well he was just sixty points and a dead mercenary demands no pay.
And its always been my opinion that when your adversary is shooting at your low cost pieces they aren't dealing with the real threats.
Just ask poor Stephanie on my BoP teams, Spoiler has drawn an inordinate amount of aggression over the years.

I will always pay that extra 10. Great deal for Me Fortune. Can't believe he's not been clixed yet. That shape change power it's really fun and I love the ability to steal powers.

That's a great strategy, and one duvid would definitely approve of . This devil-may-care rogue of rogues would be just fine cashing checks for punching the clocks of support pieces, and if that tempts them to gamble their support powers on him, all good, and if that keeps them from using their support powers at all? All good . Win-win for Mr fortune.
With the anti-west point flavor text in his sp, I translated that lying (perplex), cheating (pc) and stealing (outwit) in the order they're laid out in the text to help you see how it's being employed. I initially wanted a plethora of scoundrel support and sc on him, then decided to combine it into 1 effect that's hopefully different and hopefully fun for him to be played. Almost a riff on the WoL gl abilities. The sc run also freed up his defense track for a string of wp which combines with his potential autonomous to really let him get some work in

I basically took jw deadshot's costed , doubled the cost and expanded its effect. The wild card felt obvious, i almost straight up gave him spidey ta and just let him copy his teammates ai, but decided to flip that so spidey family teams have something fun to play with. The autonomous was a late add, but made the higher cost more appealing and I like to think of it as the hired help being able to run more ops "off the books"
For the life of me, I'm frequently surprised he hasn't been made, either. He feels like the kind of guy that would've randomly shown up back in the revLe days just to show off their ability to if anyone. Or at least a pog. But hopefully he'll arrived sooner than later. Spidey sets are frequent enough, just tell someone at wk you can reuse the sculpt for his kid
Enhancement and Shield is a sweet combo, but you couldn't stop there. Pulling a token off the the double enhanced is going to make this guy popular on tentpole teams. And at 50 pts, he will fight nicely into most any team.
The TTPC effect is very powerful when you can get it off. So is the double power action action total explosion. Very nicely limited.
Nice callback to the deity trait. But what has my in love is the triple incap. The meta effects are super nice too. Good counter to the Colossal retaliation built in there, but also no TK alpha strikes for your opponent!
The kicker on this gal is the granting your team mystics and shape change. That is potent. worthy of her primeness.
This is a brilliant design. I love the 3 theme to go with him. I really love the combat values and the countdown die. Very nice. Three of each power (mostly) is a nice touch.
I just love that golden age dial. The trait is wicked fun. This dial goes above and beyond. Really spectacular design that ties together some many dials. Wonderful.
The agents of atlas syngerize well and playing off the SHIELD TA makes these guys quite the formatable team. My one nitpick would be, unless my math is wrong (and it probably is), there's not a great way to fit them on a reasonable sized team. I would have liked to see a 400 pts build with all the atlas dials -- with that woky (and golden age appropriate) 55 pts on Namora that messes it up.
I'll stop here for now. I hope to get these crazy Avergers '59, whatever the heck that is, knocked out tomorrow. My schedule is weird and my 'weekends' have shifted to wed-thurs. But since it's my first real day off since mid august, I thought I'd dive into the excellent looking set. Great theme and such a great cast of characters in need of a revamp. Some excellent looking never-been-dialed characters I was happy to see make the list.
Not a bad list at all. Makes me wonder about a Squadron Supreme based set as well but villains don't get that kind of love and they aren't even A-list villains.
Nazi Hunter: Characters with the Hydra keyword and opposing characters that had a token removed by Leadership since your last turn modify defense -2. Opposing characters cannot use Mastermind. Never Let It Get Personal: Shape Change. Opposing characters can't use Shape Change. When Silver Sable uses Telekinesis, he can only place friendly characters. It'll Make You Sloppy: Willpower. Opposing characters with Battle Fury have "PROTECTED: Friendly Probability Control" and modify attack -2.

Silver ring on Ernst......I see what you did there.
Nazi Hunter: Oh Ernst I've got a Chase Cap'N Nazi I wan't you to meet soooo badly.
"Hey guys look I took a clix based on the worst storyline in years that didn't directly involve sexual assault & used it to turn all the heroes into Nazis"
"That's okay I've got an app for that"
"-2 Defense to....EVERYBODY!"
"Look out Axis, HERE WE COME!"
Bonus points if your running an Invaders team.
Never Let It Get Personal, I see that Ernst really doesn't like it when Nazis change their identities and hide from justice. He may also have taken out a few Skrulls by accident.
"Another wrinkly chinned green Nazi, I'm going to have to start laying off the Absinthe"
It'll Make You Sloppy, Ernst knows that you have to be cool and collected to face the hordes of fascism. He also picks off the occasional Red Lantern.
"First it was green Nazis, now its glowing red Nazis kitty cats and skeletal winged angels......okay from now on no more opium!"
All that combined with TK and Leadership, yes please.
And yes when I play him he's going to assume anyone effected by his specials is a Nazi.

Talk about hypermobile! Good dial for the best Marvel "Spider" hunter
sorry i missed this one! thanks, yeah, kraven is meant to move around the map. his ta and s encouraging deep dives with the stealth to cover his back and that yummy long range combines with the ta again to hopefully make your opponent feel the ol' nowhere-to-run-nowhere-to-hide
doing "hunter" dials is easy to do simply, difficult to do well, so i hope i've made you feel like he's got the chops
