My YouTube feed has been offering some parody songs that are pretty good at capturing the essence of the song styles they parody. Most of them are really vulgar. Here's one that doesn't go that route. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI2WjXQgFeI
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
I don't get f***ing excited every day, but just found out the band NEK! is releasing an EP July 24,2024. I've only heard one full song from them (and a couple of much heavier snippets of others) so far, but expect them to become my second or third favorite band. There is a genre of music called "Band-Maid". So far it has consisted of one band. I think NEK! may have the talent, song composition, and energy to fall into this genre.

There was a really hard rocking tune in the latest Rock Wars that I mentioned needing to check more material of theirs. AlienFlanders suggested the following song: Ghost of Floyd Collins - Black Stone Cherry. It did not disappoint.

Oh neat, Floyd collins was a real person. A very sad story cause he died so young.

This is hardly the greatest song I've heard today but I want to share it here anyway. Some celebrities have giant egos and think they can do anything. When Steven Seagal debuted my first thought was that this guy should be playing a villain, not a hero. I heard a lot of stories about how he thought he should have gotten Oscars for his movies but I dismissed it until I learned more about him. Lorne Michaels is on record as saying that Segal was the absolute worst guest host he ever had. Seagal has claimed many times that he could easily defeat other martial arts stars like Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris. He did it once with Jean Claude Van Damme present at a party at the home of Sylvester Stallone and Van Damme tried to challenge him but Seagal ducked him and fled to a night club. Van Damme tracked him down and Seagal ducked him again. Several martial artists including Bill Super foot Wallace and Bob Wall; who was a friend of Bruce Lee and played a villain for him a few times tried to call Seagal out and challenge him but Seagal was never man enough to accept. Now he lives in Moscow and openly praises Putin.
Anyway, his hubris extended to the music industry obviously, so here we go. It reminds me of when William Shatner took a dabble or when Leonard Nimoy tried to distance himself from Spock by singing about Bilbo Baggins. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEwchcdVrnk

I make no apologies for removing the 'dancing' link!
Adjacent to the category of celebrity 'spoken word' interpretations and musical episode spins... I'm mildly pleased by the DC Legends of Tomorrow 'mixtape', particularly any song featuring Tala Ashe.
