I went fishing this weekend. I was fishing from a dock and I caught a fish, held the line up for a picture to be taken, and the fish dropped! It fell to the dock right at the edge, and I stepped on it to hold it, but when I reached for it it slipped into the water. Turns out my hook became untied, so it escaped with my hook, too! That fish has a story to tell.

Jokes on you, I did some work outside the house yesterday and day drank with the neighbors from about 2 until the FSU/OM football game.

We grilled out, played bad-mitten, horseshoes and cornhole.

Sounds fun, except for the boring fishing part.


My grandfather took me fishing for years before he realized I never caught anything. I would cut the hook off and just pretend to fish or read, just wanted to spend time with him and did not really like fishing.

Miss those days now. He is 84 and has Dementia.

Dementia is not very fun...

It occurs to me that this doesn't actually solve the problem. You're still fidgeting. Only now you've made a purchase to encourage it rather than just suffer through it for free. And if you though fidgeting was distracting, just try not having a conversation about this once you break it out. "My, that's quite a fidgeting device you have there!" Or "I see you are a well-funded fidgeter!"
