Good luck Grinner. My thoughts are with you. Anything serious? (No need to reply if you don't want to).
Since I haven't been in this thread, Destructo had to point this out to me.
Not as serious as my septuple bypass back in '11. While looking at the x-rays from my kidney stones back in December they found a spot they thought was a cyst. When they had me go back in for better imaging, they said, "No, that's not a cyst." So they're cutting out the cancer and the part of my kidney around it. Barring complications I'll be in the hospital about 3-4 days (of course, those who remember my bypass surgery know I was supposed to be out in about a week for that and was in nearly a month ).

My best to you that all goes well and for a speedy recovery. Cancer can go to Hell. I hope they can remove it all for you without any complications.

Yeah, I remember your bypass surgery. Since my place of work includes a thoracic surgery ward I have a professional interest in things like that. We have had some patients that has had to stay for a long time for various reasons, so I can imagine how unfun that is.
I don't know much about cancers, but my impression is that kidney cancer is one of the more treatable ones, so I hope it goes well for you.

Hoping for a quick and easy procedure and recovery for you, my friend.

Surprisingly quick, actually - they'd originally planned on me coming home this weekend, but I'm doing so well they sent me home today. I still can't move around [i]too[i] much, and can't sit at the computer too much, but still - home wins out over hospital

I am sure they were happy to see you go too...
...I know from experience that space is at a premium at the hospital, so freeing up a bed is Worth a lot.
